Auburn (and UT's) style of play will be a disadvantage imo in the NCAAT. They will see officials they haven't seen all year and those officials may not respond well to all the jawing and yelling from CBP, CBM, and JH.

They need to shut their mouth and just play ball.
I'm new to sports and was born last week...How that work out for them last year?

My thoughts on the game:

1) CBM is a clown and 100% of his antics fall on him and Pearl. As a coach you get what you allow. Pearl may say things to the media as if he isn't ok with said behavior, but what is being said off camera is what matters. If CBM makes a bonehead dangerous play as he did, Pearl should be in his face ripping him like he does the refs every 3 seconds. You let CBM know that isn't how we play ball and that you can be tough, fearless, and relentless and not go full UFC on defenseless players from behind. When CBM slapped Youngblood the first time, he should have been pulled out of the game by Pearl and scolded. Instead he plays the, "I didn't see the play" card and acts clueless. Funny he literally see's everything else and some when it comes to "fouls" but he just happens to miss when his players punch and elbow people in the face while they are feet away from him.

2) Pearl blamed the refs after the loss. Awbarn got a foul called with 10:40 remaining in the game and didn't get called for another until the intentional foul with 41 seconds left in overtime. 15 minutes without a foul and still blaming the refs. He fits in just fine there.

3) Awbarn fans made a big deal about the lady who was not happy when CBM fell into her during the first meeting. Ironically they have been utterly silent about their fans throwing water bottles, tshirts, and trash on our players after the loss.

4) The combination of CBM, Broome, and Pearl make one of the most, if not the most, unlikeable teams we may have ever seen in college athletics. They are talented and well coached from an X's and O's standpoint, but lack humility and character. Other than Awbarn fans themselves, literally no one in the country is pulling for this team.

5) Pearl's pregame speeches are epically bad. I've seen 8-10 of them now and it really surprises me at how horrible he is at structuring a message.

6) Awbarn sucks. That is all...

espn certainly loves Pearl's pregame speeches since we have to see them every single time we play them. Even when the game is in Tuscaloosa.

Pearl is constantly looking up at the replay screen to argue with the officials, so that argument about not seeing it is a total lie!

Plausible deniability is the ability to deny responsibility for an action or claim. It's often used by people in positions of power to avoid accountability.

I keep looking for video of Youngblood getting slapped and can’t find it. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. All I get on searches is the elbow to the back of the head.

Was really pleased to see our effort and intensity increase Saturday. Really wish we could improve ball security in the final ten minutes of games, but as long as we can play good defense some of that is mitigated. Don’t think Auburn played their best game, but we had a lot to do with that. Appeared Oats really challenged the team after the UF loss. Hoping for a quick exit from the SEC tourney and gearing up for the NCAA. 👍

as long as he games aren't multiple OTs so that the team is emotionally and physically drained.
It’s almost fun if he should focus on players that have only been playing 10 to 15 minutes per game and giving them the prime time. Aden, Sherrell, Mo, Reid, Youngblood. Give them 30+ minutes. And if you win, you win.

Really? That's interesting, because they showed the replay in slo-mo. While they reviewed, it was sitting and thinking "why review?" He was in perfect control of that hand. Then, I thought about it's being Show's show and all. On the "backing-down" issue, I liked it better back when we had what's now basically the FIBA rule - you have a "column" defined by standing with your hands on your hips and rotating 360 degrees. Try to nudge a man out of that column and it's a foul like it used to be before Chuck and Shaq it was OK to use butt bulk to back straight through the defender. It was called and, if called the way it used to be, Broome couldn't even back Aden down...

Damn autocorrect...
