Message to Auburn Fans

I normally just read the threads on this web site, and this is my first post. I just want to vent a little bit about everything I hear about Auburn fans.

First off I want to make it known that I respect Auburn. And, since I'm from the Gadsden area the same as Carnell, I rooted for Auburn for the last four years because I was a huge fan of "Cadillac" ever since I watched him play in high school. I say this to my eternal shame as a die hard Bama fan, but I want to make it known that I do not HATE Auburn the way I hate UThug, FSU, Miami, and Ohio State.

All I ever hear about is how Auburn fans are more buddy-buddy together than all other fans and how Alabama fans are too up tight and stuck up from the Bear days. I'm especially hearing more of it now that Auburn is winning a lot. I get words like "brotherhood," "family," "lighthearted," "easygoing," and "better" as descriptions of what Auburn is and Alabama isn't. Well I'm here to dispell all of those rumors and let you know that Auburn is just like everybody else. Auburn does have great fans but you also have crappy fans. And while there is an older generation of Bama fans, such as my grandads, who think Bama sucks if they don't win every game 100-0, there are also a lot of Bama fans that I know who are glad when Bama wins no matter how ugly or how dominating. There are some Bama fans who may have a higher standard for their team than does AU fans but that's not a bad thing (they just like winning NC's, something AU doesn't know about :biggrin2: ). AU just tries to have this perception of being more approachable and having more comradery than any other team, but it's not the truth. You have bad fans, that gloat how they've owned Bama four times during our most trying times like it's a great accomplishment, and they don't realize that we are now closer because of the hard times we as fans have had to go through. You're not better Auburn, you're just more successful at this particular moment in time. Oh yeah, and don't boast about all the people who have jumped on the AU bandwagon during these winning years. They aren't true fans and they'll be off soon when Al Borges leaves (and he WILL leave to be a HC somewhere else). And you haven't even realized why AU's been so successful. They weren't bad 2 years ago b/c of Tuberville (who is a great coach whom I respect) when you tried to fire him. And they're not better now because of him. It's Borges. And when he leaves you'll probably scream for Tubby's head again.

And stop trying to recruit me into your AU army. If it comes down to choosing between friendly fans(AU) and stuck up fans (UA), which is a false comparison you bring up anyways, I'll take the side that wins NC's everytime.
 
Auburn is like a redneck family that thinks they are better than the other rednecks. They think they are simply a better cut of human being than everyone else...mainly us Bama fans.

They always whine about how we wont shut up about the bear and how we cannot let go of the past. Ironic, because I'm 25 years old and wasnt even alive during the "good ole days". They Bear died when I was like 2. They claim its all that we talk about. I find this very funny, because everyone that I know rarely talks about the Bear and how things used to be and blah blah blah. It just doesnt come up in daily conversation. I honestly dont know what the AU fans are talking about.

I really think they just dont like being "that other team" in the state of Alabama. They get a bigger high out of beating us than we get out of beating them. When Bama wins, we just say that it's the way it should be. When AU wins, they seem have this "in your face" attitude.

Enjoy your wins Auburn. Enjoy beating us while we are wounded. It wont be long before the effects of probation and lost scholarships will be gone.

Oh yes, our day will come (back) and things will return to normal. We may have to wait another year or two (or maybe not :smile: ) but every Bama fan knows deep down that we WILL BE BACK. And so do AgBarn fans. When you think about their four year 'domination' and then look at what they have been playing with and what we have been playing without ..... it doesn't look so 'dominating' after all.

Unless, of course, you're Oklahoma, and you think you're supposed to beat Oklahoma State 900-0 EVERY SINGLE YEAR.
 
I hope you posted this on an Auburn forum somewhere. You posted this as if you were speaking to a large group of Auburn fans. After all, the title of the thread is "message to Auburn fans" and uh.... this is TIDEFANS.
 
Myself....I havn't met to many

Auburn fans that were not stuffy, arogant and more stuck on themselves than anybody I have known. and they call us stuck up.....
 
Personally for me, If my own Son were a player at Auburn I'd still wear my Bama stuff to watch him play. I guess I'd be forced to root for him, but it would be real tough, As for becomeing a fan, Its not gonna happen, they could beat Alabama the next 20 years streight and I'd still think of them as crap. I do respect them as a worthy on-field adversary, but I don't really think much of their tradition or their program as a whole. Their success seems to depend more on Alabama being in trouble than anything else.

But I agree with your post. you can find a snob and a redneck real easy on both campuses. They don't give em personality tests when they apply to school. You just sign the check.

Well Alabama is about to bring in the "who's your daddy" bulldozer to make space for another room full of national championship trophies. So hold up your four fingers Auburn.....at least it's more teeth than you have in your head.

Bottom line............They want what we have, Tradition, Respect, & 12 NC's.
They will never achieve any of these on our level, no matter how many times they claim co-division blah, blah, blah's!!
