Nope, no joke. It's not just me that has had people evicted from the stadium. Our section gets along quite well and it's usually a large group asking the yahoo to sit down.

Yes, I've seen several people tossed out. The cops may have used a different excuse to do it, but they were tossed nonetheless.

As far as your "brothers" quote goes, that's laughable. Maybe thats why he's a sergent instead of a sergeant. What's your bro's name? I'll ask for him next time.
I think you may be the most jaded person alive.

Did you take names when the teacher was out of the classroom? Citizens arrest people speeding?

I find it quite sad that you'll have fans tossed out for standing up and yelling for their team. Suck it up, please.

You haven't seen anyone tossed out of a game for standing. Period.

Considering that I corrected the spelling at 10:22 and it took you 14 minutes (10:36) to write 9 sentences, I wouldn't be laughing at anyone if I were you.

I'll tell you what, Bojo, you post your real name and I'll have my brother find you. How's that, big talker? I'm sure, bad boy that you are, you gladly will post your real name any second now. Waiting...........

And I think ya'll are taking this to the extreme.

My point was, go, stand, yell, shave your head, paint you belly, tattoo your face, whatever. Just don't ruin it for everyone.

The only thing that will make BD a fearful place will happen on the field.

I think anybody that has other fans (regardless of who they are cheering for) thrown out for standing up should go home and watch the on tv those are the type of fans we dont need in the stadium.

Really? Yet, you're the only one who claims to have had fellow fans ejected from a game and you don't find that extreme.

I believe just as much in a persons right to sit down as I do in a persons right to stand-up...the issue for me has always been NOISE. You don't have to be standing to make noise.

However, when you seemingly gloat over having Alabama fans "evicted" from games because they had the NERVE to *gasps* STAND at a football game really hit a nerve with me.

I would personally think less of that person than I would the one who was standing.

Regardless, I agree with your point that the only thing that can save Bryant-Denny at this point is winning - and not just over the USMs, Kentuckys and MSUs of the world.

I think we should adopt a new seating plan and everybody can be happy. People that like to sit can sit up in the upperdeck. That way they dont have to stand because all those rule breaking standing people will be in the lower deck standing and enjoying the game. This way nobody is mad. The rule breakers get to break rules and the good fans get to eat crumpets and drink tea and clap if Bama scores.

How about this: I had a guy sitting in front of me in the student section last week. He brought his huge mega deluxe reclining stadium seat and plopped it down right down in front of me.

Then he turned around and proceeded to talk to me like he knew me, "Hey these aren't bad seats. I sold my Tide Pride seats over there in section E. They're in the shade, but hey, at least this way I can turn a profit and still see the game! The only thing I hate about over here is that everyone stands up and yells during the whole game."

I eyed my buddies. I knew this was going to be a long game.

Of course, once the game started going, He stood up - and not only stood up, but stood on the seat in front of him (as everyone in the student section does) while leaving his huge mega deluxe reclining stadium seat sprawled out on the seat in front of me. Oh, he didn't stand up and cheer, he stood up and complained about people standing up.

People like that ruin the game for ME. I had been looking forward to football season since the last second ticked off the clock in Nashville last year, but because of the idiot in front of me I didn't have a good time last week. I know some of that is my fault for allowing him to get to me - and you can rest assured it won't happen again. If it does, I'll just have him ejected for ruining my game day experience.

You're a sad person...and what's laughable is all of your posts on this thread, not his brothers quote. I hope you enjoy having other Bama fans tossed out of the game for standing up/cheering for their team. Go school spirit! Hooray for fanbase unity!

Our entire fan base needs a lesson in how to cheer at a football game. The defense comes on the field and we take it to a light whisper. The offense comes on the field and we scream until the scoreboard shakes. Bama fans need to quit sitting on their hands and looking around to make sure they don't embarrass themselves by cheering. It's a football game not a weekly meeting at the American Legion (often times much louder). I am not a big LSU fan, but my hat is off to their fans. They cheer and enjoy football the way it supposed to be done. What kills me is that Bama fans want to get mad when Athlon's or SI doesn't mention us as one of the best places to play college football. If we don't like it, there is a way to change it. It's simple.

If the team gets a lead on someobody like Florida, Tennesse, or LSU I think you'll see a little life out of the student section, I don't think their are any students down there that remember our last big home victory, which was probably Nov 6, 1999 at Tuscaloosa when Bama beat LSU. Hopefully they will have that feeling before they graduate.

Ahh, yes. My first experience with the old farts telling me to sit down must have been my junior year of high school when I was at an Alabama game in Tuscaloosa. When I got to Alabama, I never had any problems because the student section was stand-up almost all the time anyway.

I think the poster who said that people need to learn how to cheer was dead on. I certainly don't have a problem with anyone who wants to stand the entire game. In fact, more power to 'em. But I definitely think everyone in the stadium should be standing - and making noise - when our defense is on the field. When the offense is out there, do whatever you want to, but be quiet. AND FOR GOD'S SAKES, COULD WE STOP DOING THE WAVE WHILE THE GAME IS GOING ON?. That is so embarassing.

As far as the way you dress, I do agree that it is 'neater' if everyone in the stadium is wearing a particular color (I will be interested to see how the Yell Crew experiment for the Florida game works out), but color coordination isn't what makes a crowd or a stadium intimidating. It is the loudness factor. There have been some loud times in Bryant Denny. The loudest I have ever heard that place is when Charlie Peprah intercepted a pass against UGA in 2002 and returned it for a score to give us the lead late in the game (which we eventually lost). But I have never heard the place rockin' like that. I literally couldn't hear myself talk for a few moments. I am getting goosebumps thinking about that moment right now.

And Bojo, if the people you bring to the game can't handle the things that come with a college football game - and standing up is often a big part of it - then maybe they need to stay home. Gloating about getting fellow Bama fans thrown out of the stadium for standing up too much is pretty pitiful, IMO. I don't mean to sound harsh, but if you want a better view of the game while staying comfortable, stay home and watch on TV. Every Bama game this season will be on TV in some shape or form and it will be much more inexpensive and much less of a hassle for you.

I also disagree with some of you who say that the only thing that is going to make Bryant Denny intimidating is Bama winning games. Yes, that obviously plays a big role in it, but the actions of the fans inside of a football stadium can provide a huge advantage or disadvantage. We as fans can contribute to that regardless of our team's record that particular season.

Last thing (and sorry for some rambling), Mike's Maniacs is terrible. I don't know what I would call your 'organization', but definitely not that. Like a previous poster stated, come up with something that will stand the test of time. And try to make it a stadium-wide thing, not just a student section thing.

I think the Mississippi State game later that season was a bigger win than the LSU one that particular year.

This trend will not end

anytime soon with our fans being as lazy as they are now. Most have been spoiled by our years of dominance which no longer exist in college football. Those folks think that this "WE ARE ALABAMA" high and mighty attitude or the Bear on the jumbotron makes us a scary place to play which is a joke. We've been beat like a yard dog in BDS by the better teams in our conference since 1999 season so its obvious that junk isn't working at intimidating the other teams.

Think about it....what makes lsu or florida or auburn intimidating places to play for other teams? It's the fans! It's not the building. The fans are passionate, they stand up and yell and scream because they want to make a difference. Albiet I hate most of the other teams I mention, but you can't doubt their fans fervor in the stands. Now, think about how things are at BDS....yeah....there you go....think about how it was last week...or how its going to be saturday night. You know how we are as a fan base. We want to wear something pretty and socialize...we don't have to worry about paying close attention to what is happening and standing/yelling cause by george WE ARE ALABAMA and that should be enough to get us the win. How dare anyone question us as a fanbase...WE ARE ALABAMA. This privledged and spoiled attitude has ruined us. Sad to say, but the only thing that I see changing the overall crowd is having some of the older generation(s) quit buying tickets and quit coming to the games.

Next time you see us ranked at around the middle of the SEC for game atmospheres.....don't waste our time on this board complaining. We all know the truth if we'd take off the crimson shades regarding this topic.

I don't paint my face or jump up and down and yell the entire game, but that doesn't make me any less of a 'Bama fan. That's like saying I must not love living in America because I don't have an American flag on my car, or that I must not like a particular band because I'm not always wearing their t-shirt and buying all their merchandice.

Many people were saying they wanted to see Coach Shula jump up and down and yell when something went wrong on a bad call for example, but he didn't. Does that mean he doesn't care as much as the screaming people in the stands? No. That's just his personality. Same with people in the stands. People support their team in different ways. There is no wrong way or right way.

Everyone pays for tickets because they want to watch the game. Support the team however you want, but I think you have to be considerate of the other people around you who paid to get in like you did. If constantly standing up is keeping people behind you from seeing anything, sit down and cheer. You can make just as much noise sitting down.

No, I think it is the team that plays there. Being loud by itself doesn't will ball games. The team on the field wins the games.

I agree with you. Right now, BDS does not rank at the top for game atmospheres, but I really don't care. What I care about is winning football games. I'm sure you will see that as our team gets better and better, the crowd will get louder and louder.

Do you cover your eyes on the forth of July? Do you sit in silence when you go to a concert?

The point is, that on Saturday at BDS when the Tide is playing it should not appear that we are all having tea time. I am sure that you are a true Bama fan... why else would you bother joining this site? Just saying that I too question the gameday sitters.... if you bought tickets to see the tide play and they score... what gives?
