Seems to be a lot of blame game going on the board lately. Shula-this, Pennington-that, if we didn't have the #1 D in the country I'm sure it would be Kines-can't.

If you must be irritated, judgmental and angry about this season, please do not forget that the main target of your dissatisfaction should be the ncaa, those who helped orchestrate our troubles with theos despicable cretins and our own conference office who at a minimum allowed us to be pushed off a cliff. It's ok to blame that gutless wonder who now coaches at Texas A&M, too, though I remain convinced his departure had to do with the above more than anything.

Sure, I wish we had defeated Tennessee, and everyone else on our schedule, by 50. But as long as our opponents have an advantage of 15 - 20 scholarship athletes over us, we are going to lose close games in the fourth quarter, suffer more than our share of injuries, and depend on young players who are going to make mistakes. It's not an excuse, it's a reason, and everyone who plays us knows it. Next year might be a little better. In 2007, I hope we beat every team on our schedule by half a hundred.

Sorry, you all already know that, I just needed to say it.

Thank you for a bit of rationalization when we desparately need

it! Things are definitely getting a bit hostile today and frankly I've been a part of it.

Thanks for bringing me back down to earth!

Me too! I just get so irritated when fans don't "keep a lid" on it when it comes to NEGATIVITY - & I'm not refererring to mere opinions or constructive criticism - I'm talking about downright NEGATIVITY that doesn't help ONE single thing!

I, for one, just really believe that we're so much better than most people would have believed this year. AND - if we, as fans, would do our part to SHOW our loyalty by being patient & supportive, we'd prove a WHOLE lot of our "enemies" wrong when it comes to OUR part in one negative reason they give for why they OUGHT NOT to come to play or coach here!

The answer is to " Keep it home, 'Cuz "...In other words - keep all the negative & trash-talk in the privacy of your home...NOT in the public eye/ears!

ROLL TIDE !!

the effort our team gave in the vols game..

late in the fourth, 20 schollies shy, was phenominal to me. I did single out why I thought we lost that game. I think anyone could see it. IMHO we would have won that game very handily minus the one shortage.

The other thing that impresses me, we are doing it with tons of fresh'es and soph's. I think the game plans are a result of getting plays pounded in the younger players heads. That is why we don't have 900 play playbook. Many of these guys just got out of highschool last year. I have zero complaints, other than wishing we had more experience. And we know why that is.

I could not agree more with your post.

yes and as long as we have fans like this we'll never reach our once lofty status in college football. we might have a good year here and there, but the wolves will always be around to stir up negativity. it's quite sad really. to even bash shula is downright ludacwis(in the pronunciation of mike tyson). with friends/fans like this, who needs enemies.

if you can't see the improvements in this team on a week to week basis, you don't know squat about football. it's as if these people are in denial about the severity of the sanctions. do they just turn a blind eye to losing our 1st and 2nd string QB's AND RB's? imagine what our O would look like if not for the stout D. and on the same token, imagine what our D would look like if our offense hadn't started to grasp the playbook. coach shula is doing the best he can with what he's got (qb). in most games he's putting us in place to win with our strengths. not our weaknesses.

bottom line is, it's gonna take some time for things to start clicking. we were 4-9 last year with the most impossible circumstances surrounding our program. we still could have VERY easily wound up 7-6 or 8-5. it didn't happen, but i at least saw it in the team. this year, same thing. a devastating injury to our only capable qb cost us the ark and so. carolina game. the game last weekend could have gone either way. it hurts like heck to lose to tennessee. but if you didn't see the future of alabama football in those boys hearts. your blind as a bat.

so let's stop with all this shula bashing. it's only providing fodder for the likes of scarbinsky and finebaum and the rest of the friggin' national media. if we just stay positive, who know's, one day they might be saying. AND NO ONE, CIRCLES THE WAGONS LIKE THE ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE. that's at least how my crew rolls. we were brought up on bama football. that's how we ROLL!!!!!!! negativity gets you nowhere!
