How is it being blown out of proportion? Why should a First Lady or any other government moron be able to tell my school what my child should or shouldn't eat? That is a decision for the local and state school boards. Federal --> State --> Local. Local answers to state. State answers to federal. Department of Education wants to change something on a large scale to the public school system, it can do that.

That's not the way it is supposed to be. Federal government is not supposed to dominate state governments. The feds have their role to play, clearly enumerated in the Constitution. Where in the Constitution does it give the Feds a role in education?

Hopefully we'll see in a few short monthes. I've seen too many Obama supporters who argued loud and proud against the Patriot Act while Bush was President only to have them not say a word about it now. While Bush was President Gitmo cause the Muslims to hate us and now we hear nothing about Gitmo. There are plenty of other examples so excuse me if I'm skepical.

I cited the Constitution and the nature of the relationship between the feds and the states. You respond with nothing except non sequiturs. Trying to deflect is a failing debate strategy, bud.
