Video: Most Overhyped College QB's of All-Time

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

I got to admit the "Billy Ray" response was a blast from the past that made me laugh. I bet 99% of Bama fans don't even remember him (not 99% of Tidefans).

What in the world ever happened to him???

Blake Barnett was a victim of his dad. IIRC, he tried to leverage CNS and he blew up BB's chance to play at Bama. Enter a guy named Jalen Hurts and it's history.

FWiW, I think BB had some QB talent but parental interference will destroy a potential career.

Transferred to Duke and played a bit... Relatively decent numbers for the era.

He ended up at Duke his last two years as their starter. Wasn’t great but was serviceable by Duke standards back in those days.

Thought Arch played pretty darn good for Texas yesterday. I only saw parts ofthe game so I may have missed any miscues he had.

The hype around his recruitment was circus-level. LSU “won” his signature, even though he was committed to Texas all the way up until signing day. Suspended multiple times and finally booted by the Hat. Transferred to Jax State(!). Went undrafted. Played in the NFL, CFL, Arena Football League and even a professional league in France that I’ve never heard of.
