Introduction:

Good morning! I wanted to make a quick introduction. I have been lurking around these boards for a while, but finally signed up this past week.

I'm 'Bama born and raised, living just north of Birmingham with my better half and daughter. I'm a web developer by trade and a tinkerer by hobby, hehe. :D

I originally found this board via Google while looking for 'Bama multimedia for my homepage. (I am in a neverending search to find that presentation they play on the Jumbotron before every game to incorporate into one of my many side projects.)

So, if you have any questions, just ask .. and, howdy y'all! :)

My next generation Tide Prider:

My little one is 8 and loves watching football. Her father is an FSU fan, but also loves the Tide. (Hey, no one's perfect lol)

Anyways she was watching the game with us last Saturday when Prothro fell and broke his leg. She had watched him being carted off the field and said she felt sad for him, and wanted to send him a “Get Well Soon” card.

Yesterday I got home from work a little early, so I told her she could send him a card, showed her how to spell “Tyrone Prothro”, and told her his jersey number was ‘4′.

She drew a red stick figure with bowling ball-like muscles holding a helmet with a 4 on it. She wrote inside the card: “I’m Jessica and in I’m in the second grade. You are a cool football player. I hope you feel better soon. You are awesome.”

LOL, she watched me seal and stamp the envelope and insisted I put it in the mailbox tonight … as if the post might come early, hehehe.

Me personally, I think that's the sweetest thing I've ever heard, but then again I'm a little biased. ;)

That's my little Tide Prider! :)

Hey

Welcome to the board! That is a very kind hearted "TIDE PRIDER" you have, enjoy those moments they will get away from you so fast. RTR!

Welcome to TideFans! I'm glad you signed up. Great story about your daughter. I'm sure the card will mean the world to Pro.

Welcome to the best site

Glad you decided to join the site. I've been around for a few years even though my post numbers don't show it. Seems like a lot of people's posts were altered when they redesigned the site--all for the better.

I have a soon to be 2 year old granddaughter which is the joy of my life. We were teaching her all the animal sounds (starting, of course, with cat and dog and working our way up) when she was younger. But, when we got to "elephant", we taught her to say "Rollllllll Tide". Now, the poor (?) child will always think that all elephants say Rollll Tide. LOL!!!!! Now, that's dedication.

Thanks, Dartigan. It tickles me because she looks at our football players and sees them as heroes. I was showing her pictures on AL.com showing where the guys were helping Hurricane Katrina victims; plus she's never heard a bad word said about any of the guys on the team so naturally she thinks they're all "good guys" and any other team is full of "bad guys". LOL

I wish she had been able to see the Bear, but I've made sure that she hears lots of stories and she's seen some film footage that my mother had saved. :)
