So sorry for your loss TNBama, have peace knowing she is with the Angel's!
May she find peace and rest in the hands of God!
Praying for you & your Family to receive the blessed comfort of our Lord and Saviour

I sort of know your pain, as we had to bury one of my sons just a month ago.
He succumbed to his wounds received in Afghanistan. Hard to bury a child!
Although I'm sure it would be hard to say good-bye to a life-long spouse!
I've been married for 50 yrs. this November, not sure what I would do if something happened to her???

TNBama my sincere condolences for the loss of your wife. Ten years ago this October I lost my husband after a long illness. It's tough enough being a Bama fan in Orangeland, but losing your best friend makes for a lonely existence as no one can replace them. May God give you strength is this most difficult time.

Thank you for sharing TNBama. As it was, my dad's last game was in Knoxville. He was obviously ill but the Tennessee fans were gracious and helpful.
Where's your mom in Virginia?
In the Richmond area. I specifically grew up in Chester. My entire family, including my parents, scattered across the country. But everyone except me moved back. Serve's me right for marrying a Vol girl! ;)

Sorry for your loss but I want you to know God is faithful and will get you through this. I almost lost my wife Monday. She was a witness to a kidnapping situation. Man kidnapped a lady and led police on a chase. He ended up wrecking the car in a post office parking lot. My wife was getting out of her car at the post office when the idiot’s car landed 5 feet away from her. Many things could have happened to her but I have had a difficult week dealing with the fact she could have been kidnapped herself, killed or seriously hurt by this bozo. That is how I know God is faithful and will get you through this. Hope you have a good time watching the game with your Mom. I plan on watching Bama Saturday night with my wife.
I am SO happy your wife got through that safely. I can only imagine the fear she experienced in those moments. God Bless you, and do me a favor, give her a GREAT BIG HUG for me, and let her know how much you appreciate her.

As hard as losing a spouse is, I don't want to even TRY to think how hard losing a child is. So I am deeply saddened by your loss. But I want to thank him deeply for his serving, and his sacrifice. I have a very deep respect for our veterans and those currently serving. My God bless you and your family, and continue to heal such a deep wound.

I can truly understand your pain. My wife was my best friend before we began a romantic relationship. So it cuts very deep. I am sure that even after 10 years there are times that a memory comes to life, and the pain is as sharp as the day it happened. May God continue to bring you peace. And as Of King And Country sings, "I choose Joy!".

After a long day of funeral preparations, writing an obituary, and spending hours with family going through family photos while laughing and crying, I finally got a chance to do my daily TideFans readings. I have to admit that I started reading the replies with a little bit of dread, fully expecting to find at least ONE person that had to criticize my GO VOLS statement. But instead I found quite a few posters that probably despise the Vols to support my family with a GO VOLS themselves. Reading the replies brought tears to my eyes, and joy to my heart. Tidefans is truly a special place, where when it truly counts, puts football and rivalries in perspective. thank you to ALL of you for such kind words.

I personally responded to those of you who share a similar tragedy. But to the rest of you I have one request - go give your spouse (and kids!) a HUGE LONG hug, tell them you love them, and hug them some more. Life is precious. Never let something as trivial as football come between you and those you love.

God Bless you my friends.
