Maybe its 'old school' but generally I like players who stay with their team. Also, I wasn't trying to single out TS, my comment was a generalization about most transferring out.
Listen to the Pate video, he talks about Trey Sanders. He's a very capable RB, but after that car accident, he just isn't at the level he needs to be to compete for a starting spot at Bama. I hope he does well at TCU.

1st, you did comment on it.
2nd, isn't this an example of what CNS was referring to as 'energy vampires'? 🤷‍♂️
Saban was most definitely not talking about Sanders being an energy vampire. Saban greatly admired the kid for fighting his way back. Sanders saw that he was never going to get playing time with the guys in front of him and decided to leave. He wants to have a future and thinks TCU will give him that opportunity. I hope he succeeds after all he has fought through. He should be admired and not called a quitter.

Sanders probably just wanted to play after getting back from so many injury setbacks....I fully understand the want to compete...he sees our RB depth and the lack of time he would see on the field I suspect....more power to him and I wish him success. He deserves it.

Trey also suffered a lisfranc fracture of his foot in August of 2019, which shut him down that entire season. Up until that point, it was widely expected he would be a significant contributor as a true freshman. That particular injury isn’t a six to eight week “heal it up”, rehab and go play. Because of the location and tendons involved it is usually 12 months or more to get back from it. Then, of course, the auto accident that literally put him in a wheelchair for weeks

Also people forget there was a rumor a year or two back he was transferring to Florida State. Trey and his family came out immediately and “squelched” that notion with his father stating “Trey loves it at Alabama and has no intention of leaving”.

Trey has completed his degree and is leaving as a grad transfer. Those previously mentioned injuries have left him buried on the depth chart in a very talented RB room. And not once has Trey played the “it ain’t fair” or “poor me” card.

This was last year after his touchdowns run late in the game versus Miami. After getting back on the field after some horrible luck and some hard work. This says it all for me.

"We expect to compete against Alabama, not only in recruiting but on the field," TCU coach Sonny Dykes recently told ESPN's Dave Wilson. "So the thing you don't want to start doing is taking a bunch of guys at Alabama that can't play for them. Because in theory they shouldn't be able to play for you either."

They should be able to do better with TCU considering the competition that they will now face next year vs what they would have seen again in the SEC.

I’m not piling on, because you know how everyone feels about that comment. But in 2020, while in a wheel chair in the locker room Trey was high fiving and cheering his brothers to a national championship, in a wheelchair. When Trey scored his first TD post injury, Nick was emotional after the game talking about it. I think Trey has been the opposite of energy vampire. He has seen the writing on the wall, especially with the electricity Miller provides and Haynes and Young coming in.
