Lol. After years of calling us cowards for not playing them this is rich.

Is anyone really surprised by this. They thought they hired the next Nick Saban and they got the next Will Muschamp.

I think it will be a long time before Nebraska is relevant in football again. If ever!
Never say never but I am with you. Once the playing field was put on equal footing Nebraska Football will probably never have a dominant program again.

So they don't really care about this rivalry at all do they? Oh sure, it was a big deal when it got shafted due to Big 12 expansion. But that was because they were beating OU 77-3 every year, now in hindsight.

I have so little respect anymore for Nebraska as any kind of traditional power.

Just live there for a football season (I did 6) and you’ll be like me and @selmaborntidefan and have 0 respect.

I always find it odd that there are many Alabama fans on here are cheering for their return to prominence. They are one of the most insufferable fan bases to be around even when they are in the toilet like they are now. I actually have more respect for Oklahoma than I do Nebraska

This is a good way to put it honestly.

Frost/UCF finished the year by squeezing out wins against UCF & Memphis, and then beat an Auburn team who only beat Bama/won the West that year because you guys had A LOT of injuries, and people everywhere just automatically concluded that Frost would be the next big thing.

It’s been three hours in the Internet age and not a word from anyone at Nebraska.

Nice to know that in a year coming off a pandemic, Nebraska has enough money laying around to say, “We don’t need no stinking OU game!”

I’m dying laughing at this.

Twitter:

In Nebraska's defense, it agreed to the Oklahoma series two days before losing 70-31 to Wisconsin in the 2012 Big Ten title game. Much has changed since that day.

Which doesn’t explain waiting until 6 months before the game but whatever.

As a reminder, Nebraska was the loudest Big Ten protester against canceling the season along with Ohio State.

2020 Nebraska - “We want to play!”
2021 Nebraska - “But we don’t want to play THEM!”
I don’t usually cheer for Oklahoma but I hope they beat the Children of the Corn so bad that they start crying to end the season.

NU fans are coming unglued online at the idea they’re cowering. Most expect to lose but this is bad optics.
