Needed Rivalry

The UA vs AU rivalry needs to be placed back in the National Spotlight again. In order for this to happen, we both need to enter the game ranked in the Top 10. When is the last time the Iron Bowl featured two ranked teams. It is sorely missed.
The Ohio State vs Michigan has taken the token rivalry game from the In-State hate- b/c both teams are playing for a major bowl birth year in-year out. Same for the UT vs Florida riavalry- just earlier in the season.
Heres hoping both State Univertisties in Bama have a good season- it does a world of good for the focus to be placed back on the Iron Bowl rather than UT.
I for one miss the Iron Bowl being the featured game of the week- and want it back. Both Bama and Au losing on the same weekend has become common place- and I want it to stop. I want the Heart of Dixie to be the Heart of the Sports Media tour stops- to be talked about as the game of the week, not a traditional rivalry game.
I want Bama to be back on top, but part of me wants both Bama Universities to be players again too.
What are your thoughts?

I just want Alabama to be in the national spotlight again - for winning. It doesn't matter to me if the barn is 3-7 or 9-1 going into the Iron Bowl, as long as Alabama beats them all the way back to Opelika every year. Besides, the barn doesn't know how to act in the national spotlight. Give them preseason NC hype, and they lose 5 games. Let them win a game, and they roll their yard.

I seem to remember a ........

certain crimson-clad team entering a season ranked No.3 in the preseason polls and they lost more than five games that year if I recall. The chants of "overrated" from the UCLA fans still haunt my dreams as does that horrible season. :frown:
