Just curious if any mods/admins are concerned in the least that the Neinas firm seems to be conducting atleast 2 coaching searches simultaneously ... maybe more. Obviously they're running a business as well. I understand the reputation of the firm seems to quite becoming, but do any of you guys foresee a scenario in which a conflict of interest could develop .... so much so that the best interest of his client takes a backseat to what's best for the firm ? Just curious.:)

That would be highly unethical and would cause them to lose future clients. Not a smart move when you're running a business.

List of consultants:

Matt Ganser
Ron Goch
Mark LeClerc
Jack Lengyel
Jeff Morris

Charles M. Neinas
Dr. J. Phillip Roach

It would be a short lived business if unethical things were carried on. Looks like Chuck has been doing this for quite a while.

I may be incorrect, but it appears to me that most people are incorrectly thinking that we hired Chuck Neinas himself, when in fact we hired his company. As was shown by Bayou, they have many consultants and while I'm sure they each know what the other is doing, they work for their clients and are paid as such. If they didn't do their job in an upstanding way, they would not be as successful as they've been.

This is a great post. Being toward the end of my college career, I am now questioning how I can get involved with a company of this nature. I used to want to be a sports agent. Maybe a consultant? I don't know, but is diehard obsession/loyalty to a specific team a positive or a negative if you were in this industry?

Thanks guys. I'm sure it was a smart move on our part (for once) ... just makes me a little nervous for some reason. If this agency operates almost like a sports agency (each agent representing a client independent of one another)...I agree....this should pose no threat.

After reviewing the area of expertise for each, it is clear that Neinas is the one in this group that UA is dealing with at this time. Some of those specialized ind fund raising, overseeing construction projects, etc., but Neinas was specifically said to be associated with the help in hiring athletic directors and coaches.

If you're asking if Chuck would steer a better candidate to Miami instead of to UA, I say "no way." More than anything else, Chuck will make his living with a good "repeat business." Shaft schools this go round and they won't deal with you in the future... and bad rep starts developing.

FWIW, I don't really think there is a lot of overlap between our search and the search of UM. The circumstances to both jobs are vastly different... and I do not see many guys who would likely be successful in either place. Most fall in the "tailor made" category for one or the other... but not both.
