Very interesting presentation that provides a lot of details previously not reported.

Very impressive to know how well this company and others can come together at time of crisis and execute as needed.

Bravo!

In retrospect, makes you wonder why when the initial report of an implosion sound was heard - early on - someone would extrapolate that the first place to look would be on the bottom. And thus, put the most focus on that.

I mean all those days spent looking everywhere else.

Hindsight of course is always 20-20!
Because, based on all the reports I have read, the ships with ROVs capable of reaching the ocean floor at those depths did not arrive on site until late Wednesday/Thursday morning. Once those ships arrived on site, they actually found the debris field relatively quickly because they knew exactly where to look based on the Navy's sound detection information.

IMO, the better question to ask is, if they had this info about the Navy detecting the sound and the location, why the charade of a search until Thursday? Why not be honest with people and say the sub imploded and we are waiting on vessels with ROVs that can go deep enough to search the ocean floor.

Because something that sounded like an implosion might not have been an implosion or might not have had anything to do with the submersible.

And combine that with the repetitive knocking sounds that could have been someone banging on the hull (not to mention the design of the thing, where there were so many ways to get to the surface yet no way to extract themselves) and the decision makes sense.

I'm the kind of guy who says "you did this to you, we're not going to saddle the taxpayer with the costs of trying to save you", but even I understand that since that rule is not in place, the entities in charge had to do everything they could.

Jeff Ostroff reviews the leaked Titan Sub Transcript which the internet is debating the authenticity of, to see if this scenario is real, and whether the crew spent 20 minutes fighting for their lives, only to have the OceanGate Titan submarine implode before it could resurface.

Newly released images have just revealed the wreckage of the OceanGate Titan submersible resting on the seabed, just 1,600 feet from the Titanic's bow. The submersible tragically imploded in June 2023, killing all five onboard.

They say "gravity is a harsh mistress," but I think deep underwater is even less forgiving.
