No such thing as a weed problem. It's a natural substance. Alcohol problem, coke problem, and meth problems all exist, but not weed problems.

That's a different topic all together though, and I digress. Florida has a lot of dank growing in the Everglades region, no doubt. Along with the Cubans, and all the other illeagle's that flock to the southern florida area. I would say they have a lot of illeagle activities going on, bigger problems than just marijuana.

Personally, I've never smoked weed and I'm sure the ones that want to say that weed isn't a problem had a joint in their mouth while typing that. I don't think it's the worst thing ever but if you're players are getting arrested over something multiple times and giving your college a bad name then yes, it is a problem

So? There are plenty of "natural" substances that will mess you up or kill you.

By natural I mean it requires absolutely no chemicals to distill, it doesn't have to be extracted or whatever like they do with coca leaves. Nothing has to be manufactured. In places where it grows wild, Mexico and Afghanistan it's as easy as picking wild raspberries. Except this puts you under the influence. And that's not cool for teh kids.

And tell me one person that has died as a result of smoking marijuana. You can't. Know why? Marijuana is not dangerous. I mean unless your a pizza or taco or something.

That being said, I do NOT Condone doing anything illeagle. I do not smoke weed. I just think this prohibition needs to come to an end and we need to realize the potiential for profit.

:rolleye2:I don't smoke but can see the problem with the marijuana laws in our country. I am also not so naive that I believe that only the Florida football team has a problem with marijuana.

Well, since it impairs you I'm sure there have been plenty of traffic fatalities that were the result of smoking weed.

the law is full of stupid rules.
Maybe so, but we don't get to ignore the ones we think are stupid, I have quite a few different ones I'd add to the list. When everyone chooses which laws they want to follow it's called anarchy.

As for the harmless issue, weed on its own may be largely harmless (if you don't care about your short-term memory), but I've never heard a heroin or crack addict say they just woke up one day and decided to shoot up. In almost all cases there is an obvious pattern and it begins with marijuana.

I disagree, I believe it starts with booze, cigarettes, and caffeine.

EXACTLY. It never fails, anytime a thread comes up about someone getting busted for smoking pot, having it in their possession or selling it, we get the stoners in our ranks who roll out "studies" from obscure medical sources that extol the virtues of smoking pot, how drugs are really good for you, how they've performed cardio vascular surgery while high as a kite, scored a perfect score on the ACT while stoned, etc.

On the face of it, it would make sense to legalize the stuff. My problem with that is when you do that, when people's lives get out of control and their lives become a never ending train wreck, many of them are going to want the government to get their lives back together for them and there will no doubt be some "compassionate" politicians who will be more than happy to spend billions on a new "program" to assist them which of course will never end. Scoff if you will but there are millions of Americans out there who would like the government to take care of them from womb to tomb. As long as they have subsidized housing, cable TV with HBO and a cell phone, they're fat, lazy and happy with ZERO desire to ever leave that lifestyle.
