A question for you please: Have you always been a fan of U.S. college football and/or Bama football, or did you become more interested when you found out Williams would be playing for Bama? Just curious and either way it's great to have a real Aussie Bama fan.

I thought this was funny and informative. I've spoken to Europeans who say we're whimps to have so many pads. I just tell them to try the game and you'll see why.

Williams admits at first he thought all the padding they wear in American football was overkill.

"I didn't want to wear as many pads as everyone else," he says. "But then you find out pretty quick smart that you're going to get hit real hard, and a lot harder than you'll get hit in rugby."

Well, lets say that I have always been a fan and admirer of Alabama football and their history, although my original passion is a team a fair bit north. However, having spent plenty of time with JW, how could I not become a deep Bama fan upon his commitment, especially given how impressed we have been with the UA staff throughout recruitment and his enrolment, as well as the passion and support of the fans.

I got to experience the Bama fans up close at the Sugar Bowl a couple of years ago and enjoyed hanging out with many of you in New Orleans, even if the game went the wrong way. Looking forward to it again in the fall when I come over for the Ark. game.
