According to Over the Cap.com, the first player drafted gets a signing bonus of $25,915,016. The first year base salary is $750K, but climbs rapidly from there to $6,171,564 in year 4. There is a year 5 team option along with roster bonuses beginning in year 2. I believe that this is fully guaranteed.Part of the 41...
Small and slowWhy is to’o’to’o being passed on? I’m not understanding
not dumping on the kid but Transfer portal and NIL have made a lot of kids really overestimate their abilities/worth.Needless to say Eli Ricks should have stayed a second year. We’re well into the 6th round of the draft and his name hasn’t been called.
From All American to may not make a decent pay check at the next level.
Hellams to Atlanta.I don’t think Hellams nor Dale gets drafted
And DJ Dale - Bills10 players drafted, ties for second most in a draft. Georgia also had ten.
Ekiyor has sign as a FA with the Colts.
“Wherever he’s played, he’s been productive, whether it was at Tennessee, whether it was at Alabama,” Texans general manager Nick Caserio said. “Captain, leader, ran a defense, signal-caller, highly productive, instinctive, so a lot of good qualities. Should have a role in the kicking game, so depth at linebacker, depth in the kicking game, good makeup – I mean, high-level makeup. I’d say, kind of elite makeup, top-of-the-line makeup."Small and slow
In a draft world that doesn't make sense to me, Philly gets it: they pretty much drafted boys from Alabama and Georgia, the top of the college football world. Makes sense to me.Ricks as UFA to Philadelphia per CBS.
I like those players winning mentality also, but there have been a lot of really good players from smaller schools make it in the NFL, Demarcus Ware from Troy comes to mind.In a draft world that doesn't make sense to me, Philly gets it: they pretty much drafted boys from Alabama and Georgia, the top of the college football world. That’s all well and good. I’m happy for Henry, but remember Anthony Richardson got picked #4, proving yet again NFL GMs don’t actually watch college football.“Wherever he’s played, he’s been productive, whether it was at Tennessee, whether it was at Alabama,” Texans general manager Nick Caserio said. “Captain, leader, ran a defense, signal-caller, highly productive, instinctive, so a lot of good qualities. Toto had a, to me, very realistic appraisal by Zuerlein (sp) from NFL.com:It is very telling we haven't had a middle linebacker taken at all in the draft last year....and so far this year. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I remeber Dylan Moses going undrafted and Henry is still on the board this year).
Because, performance wise, outside of his play calling skills, he’s a mediocre LB. He doesn’t have the physical skills needed for that position. Why is to’o’to’o being passed on? I’m not understanding
He will still make more money a year than I ever will, and likely won’t destroy his body doing it.Toto had a, to me, very realistic appraisal by Zuerlein (sp) from NFL.com:
In essence, he’s not a hard-hitting presence in the middle (lacks ‘thump’ was the phrase used) and doesn’t have great side to side speed to close gaps and cut off angles. Will be a perennial backup - his words.
It’s part of last year’s problems on defense - the guy calling the shots up front didn’t have the physical skills for the position. I was underwhelmed by his performances from the day he came to Ttown, and I was heartbroken when he originally signed with the Orange Puke.
My prediction; you will seldom hear his name called on Sundays and he’ll be lucky to complete his rookie contract in the NFL.
An admirable goal of his, I’m sure. Every CFB player’s hopes and dreams. He will still make more money a year than I ever will, and likely won’t destroy his body doing it.
