The performance of the nike bats seem to be terrible at best . Watching the games last week, all the other makes of bats in mobile seem to have alot more pop. Can we use another brand of bat ? Georgia quit using nike bats last year because of the lack of performance.

Didn't Tiger Woods really take a dive when he started using Nike clubs? Just because they have the most money doesn't mean that they make the best stuff.

Then again, maybe we have some sort of contractual obligation to use them since we have a swoosh on everything else at Alabama?

There is other teams with the Nike swoosh on their uniforms but I noticed they're swinging Easton or Marruci bats. I would like for us to go back to Easton myself.

I haven't paid much attention to any difference, but I will tonight and this weekend. We should be able to run some tests on the different bats to compare/contrast the results.

By we, I mean the University. Not any of us. They could do it as part of a aerospace/mechanical engineering project.

IMO the NIKE stuff is inferior. Shoes and clothing are one thing, bats and golf clubs are another. Their gloves seem to be ok. On the other hand, the Easton Surge is a great bat, but Easton the company got caught with their pants down on the switch from BESR to BBCOR bats which resulted in most of their bats being Illegal at least here in Ga anyway. In Georgia, there are only a couple of Easton bats that can be used due to the new bats rules. The Surge is one of them and it a great bat. Most of the teams we play here are using the Surge or are using the Louisville Slugger series bats. I haven't seem any of the other bats such as the Marruci series so I can't speak on their behalf. Easton will catch up to the others and I have heard rumors that they have a new design which allow the older bats to conform to the new BBCOR standards without killing the bats themselves. The University of Alabama needs to get away from NIKE for baseball when it comes to bats in all honestly. For the other stuff (shoes, uniforms, gloves, etc) and other sports (except golf :) )it is fine
