The Crimson Tide set the program record for consecutive victories to begin a new season with the win
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 23 Alabama baseball secured the series win over Presbyterian on Saturday, as the Crimson Tide rolled for nine runs in the second in UA's 15-1 victory over the Blue Hose. The ballgame was made official after seven innings due to the 10-run rule. The win improves the Tide to 16-0 on the young campaign, marking the most consecutive wins to open a new season in program history.
Will Hodo sparked the Tide's offensive output, finishing a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, highlighted by a grand slam in UA's explosive second frame. The senior first baseman finished a triple shy of the cycle. Justin Lebron also produced five RBI, going 2-for-4 including a three-run home run and a two-run single. Bryce Fowler and Kade Snell closed with identical 2-for-3 lines with both men driving in a run. Jason Torres was 1-for-2 with an RBI, while Richie Bonomolo Jr. and Coleman Mizell recorded one hit apiece.
Riley Quick (4-0) tossed a career-high 4.1 innings on Saturday, surrendering just two hits and one run to go with two walks and one strikeout. Out of the bullpen, Hagan Banks retired all five men he faced while Beau Bryans picked up two strikeouts in a scoreless seventh.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn

"Really proud of our kids. They did a good job of showing up and ringing the bell, and that was just another really professional win. I thought we were really good offensively. Riley Quick didn't strike a ton of dudes out tonight, but it was an upper-90's heater and forced a ton of ground balls. We got him back out for the fifth, which is one thing that we really wanted to do, so it sets him up for a good one next weekend. Really professional win by our guys and now we turn the page to tomorrow to go try to finish the series."
