I Love Alabama With Everything I Got And Bama For The Most Part Is One Of The Classiest Teams Out There But When Bamas Place Kickers Came Onto The Field To Start The Second Half When Tennessee's Band Was Still Performing I Thought Was Very Un-called For.jmo....i Think Someone Needs To Address The Coaching Staff To Make Sure That Doesnt Happen Again. It Didnt Look Good For Our Team At All. But Anyways, The Game Was Awesome.yeah We Didnt Win But My Boys Played Their Hearts Out And Thats All Its About. Roll Tide And Lets Beat Up On State!

Ut's band...

was still occupying the field when there was only two minutes to go before the second half kickoff, in an apparent attempt to prevent the Tide kickers from warming up. You're right, that was a no-class move that I would expect from them.

The band has to be done performing at a certain time and if not the players have every right to go ahead and come out. This was not our fault.

that is exactly right. UT's band was in the wrong in this situation.

Actually the UT players walking off the field cut the Bama band going onto the field in half and held up them getting ready. You tell me how much class that is.

TIDE-HSV You are right

tennessee is the ones with "NO CLASS" As expected, fulmer didn't say a word about the kind of team that he played. Coach Shula always gives the other team credit for playing a good game. They have never had any class and never will...

As Bama Fans, we just are going to have to suck it up and with in a couple of years the Tide is going to back to where they are suppose to be. The thing is, if some of these posters had their way... they would have fired Coach Shula at the end of this season and those are the kind of people that don't have a "CLUE" how long it takes to get a program like Bama's back on the right track..

You must not have watched the same post game interview the rest of us did. Fullmer did say Alabama played a good game. I don't like him either but he did say that on national tv.

HSV...

There were actually 4 minutes left when the kickers came on the field...

It was kind of a wierd move...Nobody in the stands (including Bama fans) knew what to make of it...

Either way, the band and the kickers got off the field without any incident, so it worked out OK...

That happened in Athens, GA last year as well. Bostick was out practicing, and the band was marching off the field playing the fight song. They actually parted in the middle and went around him. I though the Georgia fans were going to explode lol.

Tn...

This is just a conflict in testimony. Other folks - who were there also - said that it was down to two minutes, or a little less, before the kickers actually started.

Thanks for confirming that. I could have sworn I heard the same thing. For a minute there I thought CBS might have hade a couple of different broadcast working for the same game.

Well, the half-time ran long because

Alabama brought their entire band and performed at half-time.
Most all the time the home band is the only one that is performing and they are off the field in plenty of time. With Bama bring the band and performing that cut into teams warming up before the second half.

I thought both Teams (players) on the field showed class for each other. There was a lot of head slaps, butt slaps, and high fives with each other. I was surprised :eek2: . I will say one thing ut holds a lot.

Bama was in the wrong

I was at the game. There was well over 2 minutes to go in the half when Bama's first 3-4 players and a coach came out. Instead of walking around the field to get to their sideline, they went THROUGH the field and THROUGH the UT band. UT fans went into an uproar. After getting to the sideline, they retrieved equipment and then went back out onto the field, again into the midst of the UT band and started setting up to practice. As a Bama fan, it was very embarrasing and showed very low class. The UT fans were going crazy over it and declaring it as proof of how low class Bama is. After refusing to yield to the band, the refs came out and told them to leave. They moved over a few yards and setup again (in defiance of the refs). The refs then had to COME BACK OUT AND TELL THEM AGAIN TO LEAVE THE FIELD. But lets look at this strictly from the stance of trying to win a close game. Odds are the UT team heard about this. Odds are good it got them ticked off and made them play all the harder, thus it could have had a negative effect on our chances of winning the game.

Im sorry, but even if the UT band should have been off the field, this was still a VERY bad decision.

Sunday morning, on the Phil Fulmer show (which my wife watched - not me) Fulmer said it was a hard fought game on both sides and Tennessee was lucky to come out with a win.

Sorry folks, but I just don't believe that when we're on the road, our team's second half game preparations should be dictated by the opposing team's band.
