Watch out for Kentucky.......

The Kentucky turnaround is real. Are the Wildcats better without Jaland Lowe?

Kentucky won for the 8th time in 9 games on Saturday night at Rupp Arena, rallying from a double-digit deficit (again!) to complete a season sweep of Tennessee.

The Wildcats have found a legitimate third scoring option in sophomore Collin Chandler (11 points, 2 assists, 1 steal per game over last 5), easing the immense pressure on Otega Oweh and Denzel Aberdeen and making the Wildcats’ offensive actions, especially off the ball, far less predictable. It was Chandler who hit the go-ahead bucket with under a minute to play at Rupp on Saturday night and it’s Chandler who is now first among the Kentucky guards and wings in offensive rating (123.2, per Torvik).

Arizona goes down again. I guess they aren't the juggernaut everyone thought they were.

They are. Toppin was just a beast yesterday. He drug that team to victory. But they are playing other thuggy teams and it’s all of a sudden much harder.

Also, Zona's Koa Peat sat out the 2nd half with an injury. It was a very close game and with Peat an argument could easily be made Zona would have won.

The injury bug......ugh!

NICE road win for Coach White over Kentucky tonight. With Wilkinson back Georgia is a different team! Kentucky is loaded with talent too and played well but couldn't get it done. Their 3 pt % tonight was insane!

Also #9 Nebraska also goes down to Iowa - #16 North Carolina to NC State - and #24 Wisconsin to Ohio State.

Doesn't hurt when your team is doing well. But yeah, I enjoy this time of year with basketball, baseball, and softball.

Not a huge fan of watching games outside our conference but will usually keep an eye on the scoreboard and when a game gets into the final minutes and is very close I will try to tune in.

I did that with Nebraska and Iowa last night. What irritates me is ESPN will show the scoring update on their screen - but not list the channel the game is aired on - unless it's ABC, ESPN, or SECN.

That game happened to be in the BIG Network, so I found it just by switching channels.

But that's kind of a bush league thing by ESPN, IMHO.

Kentucky was behind most of last night's game but was mounting a serious comeback in the closing minutes but inexplicably, Otega Oweh- one of the best players - lost the ball OOB's two possessions in a row, and ultimately cost them the game.

I usually look ahead of each week's game by going to the ESPN SCORES page for that day:

#23 BYU at #4 Arizona might be a good one tonight. On ESPN at 9pm ET.

Arizona will be down two regulars, including a starter, for Wednesday’s showdown with No. 23 BYU, and at least one could be out for longer.
The school announced Tuesday that freshman forward Koa Peat has a muscle strain in his “lower leg area,” an injury that will keep him out for at least the next two games. He will be re-evaluated next week and will return to the court when cleared by the medical staff, according to a statement posted on social media.

That means Peat will also miss Saturday’s showdown at No. 2 Houston.
Additionally, freshman wing Dwayne Aristode will miss a second straight game due to an illness. He sat out Saturday’s overtime home loss to Texas Tech, the same game that saw Peat start and play 11 minutes before not playing after halftime.
