Of course, we're going to see the kitchen sink thrown at us. It's the first game and in their stadium. If they want to even begin saving face from last season, they have to win this game. They'll be pulling out plays they won't use again all season long.

He's just playing psychological games. When you cannot match the talent of your opponent on the field all you can do is try to get inside their heads. Just because Malzahn had some success against us in the Saban era doesn't mean he'll have success again. Although I'm not an X's and O's guy I imagine our defensive scheme now is quite different from the Saban era.
Oh dear, however will Bama prepare for Malzahn's 20 year-old offensive schemes?

We also need to score on them early. Stop them a couple of times and put points on the board and they will rapidly wear themselves out.

I mean DeBoer basically did the same thing last fall in terms of scrimmages and practices with play designs.
I'm not really worried about Gus. Eye discipline on defense matters a lot. Just keep everything in front of them and we'll be fine.

"Just DO YOUR JOB - don't worry about the other guy - and we'll be fine."
So simple......yet so effective!
