Norvell closing F$U practices

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

At some point we will see lawsuits and professional college players like Roy... I mean... a million bucks a year isn't bad money! Pavia has already pushed the envelope out. If nothing else, a solid 3* could go to JUCO a couple of years and develop and then play 5 full years for good cash.
I think that's exactly what's coming, especially at the QB and OL positions. For both, it's hard to extrapolate HS performance into college. And for the majority of players, both take some time to develop. Do your developing in a context that doesn't cost you any eligibility, then go pro in the college ranks. Even if you're not an NFL prospect, you can make good money for 5 years and have a huge head start on financial stability after college.

It won't be long before we see 27 year old college players.

This is what's currently happening in baseball. 3* D-1 players are transferring to two year colleges/JUCO, getting playing time and then jumping in the portal and transferring back to D-1 schools with more value $$$$. It's killing the high school recruit. My son is going through this right now. They're giving "left over" scholarships to the HS players and the bulk of their scholarship money to portal players. It sucks.

You can bet Guz will want to bring everything he has to win this game. All I can say is if this game goes south there goes the season.
This game REALLY is important for CKD to prove he can motivate the team to take care of business. A 4th loss against a team where we are a heavy favorite in his first 14 games would not go over well with the fan base.
That being said; I expect us to play well. RTR!
