Isn't it sad that a team can be ranked 21 one week and 10 the next from a win. We would have to be 12-0 to even break the top ten. I guess if they win this week they will be ranked number one and playind for a national championship. Roll Tide!!1
it doesnt pain me, I am glad to see the "classic teams" back, if I recall correctly ND, Penn State and Bama are 2-0? It feels good to see these teams back. Face it, if we can get back to the National title game anytime soon, I hope it is against ND, I think Bama owes them some payback....Besides if you beat notre dame in a title game and there is another team like in 2004. Lets say Bama faces Notre Dame in the BCS title and someone like Va tech was undefeated playing Utah, the "media bias" will play to our favor if you beat a notre dame. I take the half full approach.. take those lemons and make a lynchburg lemonade.BamaCod said:As much as it pains me to say it, I have to agree with their ranking. They have beaten two ranked teams on the road. Ok, maybe Pitt and Mich were overrated, but that just highlights the problems with preseason polls. But that is the system we have, so we have to deal with it. If ND is overrated, then it'll show up when they face USC or UT, but until then they are 2-0 vs. ranked teams. . . pretty impressive.
Exactly, which is why there should be no polls until at least the 5th week of the college football season. We don't know who is and isn't a good team right now. We know next to nothing about every team out there.NYBamaFan said:A jump like that is not possible in week 10, but in week 2 anything is possible. The pollsters know that they were guessing with early rankings and make huge adjustments in the first 4 weeks.
yep and if Bama beat the #3 team I would expect the same ..and it does happen. Not just for Notre Dame....I am happy for them, now lets get us some victories and worry about the polls later.Love the Ping said:Getting upset over the polls at this point in the season is ridiculous. As the wins and losses pile up, a clear picture will emerge, and then feel free to get upset about the polls. But right now, Notre Dame has one of the most impressive wins in the nation, maybe only behind Texas beating OSU on the road.
