Meh...on Mullen. How good was he as an OC? He had Urban's full offensive array of talent and a generational QB that probably could have extended Mike Shula's sinking HCing career if it had gone the other way. Yeah, he coached a good QB at MSU in Dak.

Maybe it's just me, but CNS going the Mullen route just seems a little too much like the BOB route; older, safe choice.

I'd personally rather see a true up and comer type guy who, if successful everybody wants in 2 or 3 years as a HC.

Reminder that nobody is knocking down the front doors of BOB and Mullen for HCing jobs.

I am starting to get the feeling BoB isn't going anywhere. If I am wrong, I will add an apology to my signature.
Personally I think he will go back to the pros. It fits him better. There are a lot of pro jobs. He will land somewhere.

I want to end this once and for all. BOB had two years agreement with Alabama, which expires in Jan. Bob will not be retained by Alabama. We will be hiring OC. We will not be hiring new OC until after the Signing Day/Bowl Game. I was talking to one of the mods from the other board, he found it interesting that people somehow thinks that BOB is in middle of 2 years contract, when in fact he's not. I wonder if it's a case of PTSD thing with Bama fans?

BOB is looking to return to NFL next month. So please, be patient and let the process play out. He will not be back with Alabama next season. I'm seeing many people saying they get a feeling he'll be back, but the fact of the matter he won't be back.

I was wondering this morning if coach Leach’s passing would influence coach Saban’s plans anyway. I’m sure his wife has considered his coaching future over all of this. I know he enjoys coaching and has openly questioned what he would do if he wasn’t coaching. A peer’s death can get you to questioning what you really want in life. I hope he is happy enough coaching out his contract, if not longer if he wishes to.

Kiffin had a 2 year contract too. He was here for 3 years. Contracts can be renewed. You, I, and no one one on Earth knows what Coach Saban is thinking right now. Again if I am wrong I will own it.

Thanks for this. I wonder what he is telling recruits, or what any recruit on offense is being told? Just curious. Also, do you think Golding will be back and if so, as ILB/DC, or in another role?

And very possibly will be returning to the Patriots. I frequent two NE Patriots message boards and there are "rumblings" that Bill B doesn't trust hiring an OC who hasn't already been in the Patriots system before, but is DEFINITELY making a change, and Bill O'Brien's name is on the very, very short list. My guess is, O'Brien will be Mac Jones' OC/QB next season.

Dude...just keep saying it. At this point you probably need to post this every day to every thread that is discussing BOB.

Trust me when i say the Mods on here have said that, the insiders on here and other board have consistently said it. It's matter of when...

Well Belichick maybe will be forced to hire an OC because Kraft sees that he is losing the fanbase with all the nonsense that Belichick has done in the past 4 years. There is a line between experimenting and jumping into a dumpster and lightning it on fire. Making Patricia the OC may have been the dumbest coaching moves by a good coach in the last 10 years.

But BoB back to the Pats isn’t really out of the realm of possibilities. However I see him going elsewhere.

As a spoiled fanbase, folks are not use to being in an information black hole at this time of the year since we are usually discussing our playoff chances. Don't realize that coaches are putting a bow on recruiting season.
