Will like to see Jess's review. I know Upshaw came out, but our D line/ linebackers in general didn't seem to get good pressure. Looked like most of out blitzes were handled.

And we still have issues punting. Seems like that has been a problem since Lane Bearden.

But I'm nit-picking. Great win at a hostile stadium!!!!
Jesse knocked down 2 passes!

We wore Penn State out today, and finished well. I was really impressed with AJ. Not so much for what he did, but for what he didn't do - force the ball. As good as the defense is, a punt is ok. A turnover isn't ok.

Was impressed with AJ today. Never lost his poise on front of a hostile crowd that stayed in the game throughout. Again, line play needs to improve in the run-blocking dept, but playcalling could help tremendously. The draw play from the shotgun formation went absolutely nowhere, yet we ran the play over and over. We had our most successful runs on stretch plays and plays to the edge.

Does anyone have any insight as to why we run so few running plays to the outside? Is it Coach Mac or CNS that insists on pounding it left or right guard constantly?

The offensive line got questioned all this past week. As a o-lineman, you want as many chances as you want to destroy the man in front of you. I think the coaches were just giving the guys up front a chance to put their stamp on the game

I was kind of wondering the same thing. It seems as if we were having some success running out on the edge at times...

Wonder why we don't have any good ol' fashioned playaction pass plays either.

Overall thought it was a good performance by the Tide. Roll Tide.

Solid win. Not the score I expected (34-17) but I'll take it. Only got to see the game from 8:00 minutes or so left in 3rd. My son had kickoff at the same time but was delayed about 1/2 an hour. (Although he's on suspension right now they won 33-0, btw)

So, did Duron see the field and/or touch the ball? How much will he and Hanks help to stretch the defense in the coming weeks? I'm really looking forward to SEC play now that it appears we're settling into a starting QB. McCarron looked better this week. I feel good about the offensive improvement.

Good Win.

Solid all-around game by the team. Very workman-like. Two down, 12 to go.

There are things to work on for sure; but, with Coach Saban, there's always going to be something to work. Great road win for this team.

The o-line was better today but I think it still has a ways to go. They seldom open any holes. The backs just plow into the crowd and get what they can.
But...we rushed for nearly 200 on the road against a ranked team and we will continue to get better.

Penn State's first home loss to a non-conference team in a decade ... I did not expect that level of comfort from almost the beginning down to 0:00. I could settle in with a beer and nacho's and just enjoy it, no heartburn. I'll leave the complainin' and splainin' to the coaches, what I saw was a team ready for the next level. ROLL TIDE.

It's good to be able to sit here and 'nitpick' after rushing for nearly 200 yds in a hostile environment, and basically shutting the other guys down, save for one field goal drive and a garbage TD.

Can you imagine sitting here as a *U fan trying to rationalize giving 500+ yds, in back-to-back home games mind you, against the likes of USU and MSU? I just saw where MSU had over 300 yds rushing against them. Give me a 'boring' game like ours ANY day of the week over these 41-35 type games. UGA and USCe are playing one right now.

If AJ continues to improve, and we build solid depth with Sims, I feel really good about our team. When we don't turn the ball over, it will be awfully tough for someone to beat us.

I've been sick all day and just now got out of bed, but I am glad to see Bama have a solid road win against very solid PSU team. I know people will nitpick about the areas that needs improving but overall I like the performance today. Nothing wrong with beating a top 25 team in their place on national tv in a hostile environment.
