Before we go down this road…. We have constantly had the most talented team in history 3 years in a row. But yet in 2 of the 3 years we were some of the most penalized teams in the nation and we had a whopping zero national championships.

I think when talent is not coached well or is uncoachable it becomes irrelevant of how talented that team is. So which do people want to believe about the last three years??? Was this team not coached well or were they uncoachable? Because you are basically bringing Nick Saban into this argument.
I mean, it’s pretty clear the players haven’t been coachable since 2021. Everyone should know the reason why.

I will not deny that Milroe has been an integral part to our 3 losses, but our OL is absolutely terrible. When was the last time we had an OL coach whose OL could impose its will on the opponents? When they are not getting driven back into the backfield they are holding. We have some very good RBs, but they rarely have any room to run. They appear to be overweight and slow and cannot handle any kind of blitz. I am afraid our next QB is going to get killed unless someone improves the OL.

If your offense milks clock, converts third downs and controls the other team’s TOP, then it effects our tempo and play calling on your offense and limits possession.

Here are the rushing totals for the six previous conference games for Oklahoma.

Vs Tennessee - 36
Vs Auburn. - 130
Vs Texas. - 89
Vs. USCe. - 53
Vs. Ole Miss. - 147
Vs Missouri. - 122

Vs Alabama. - 257

Basically our defense gave up almost twice as much rushing yardage as any of Oklahoma’s previous conference opponents.

I agree the defense did a good job of keeping them out of the end zone. But you can’t tell me our inability to stop a team’s running game that had been anemic (or at best pedestrian) throughout this season didn’t contribute to this loss. Yeah the offense was god awful. As was Burnip punting and the gaffs in the punt return game. But the defense and Wommack do not get a complete pass in this game.
How about our offense make plays and keep the ball and score. If that happens we win, I’m not putting this on the defense. Three points is inexcusable.

And if a QB is in year three and can’t read the short passing game or learn to run the rpo correctly he needs to change positions. This whole situation is mind boggling. I can’t even fathom how we got here.

And what’s even crazier is our whole game plan revolves around a very limited player. A player who whiffed on a tackle wearing a captains badge. 🤮

I'm hoping CKD will recruit and "recondition" the players we have to more emulate the OL he had at UW - leaner, quicker, and more mobile. All of our current OL need to lose about 30 lbs.

Last of my rant….he is such a ball hog. He hasn’t figured out that if he played unselfishly he’d probably be in the Heisman race, but no….its all Milroe time here.

It's actually 4 years in the program, which makes it even worse...

Some of this is just silly talk.

Our RBs could be elite if given enough work. Jam especially has exceptional speed.

The OL could do some things better, but when the QB holds onto the ball longer than any other QB in college, a vast majority of the issue is on him.

Think the overweight part may change with future OL recruits. I figure we'll end up going with lighter, more athletics guys. Probably 300-325 lb guys rather than 350-375.

I agree...............either calling his own number constantly or holding the ball..............he does it

I don't care what their offense "dictated". Our defense gave up 10 points.
OUR offense GAVE THE OTHER TEAM 14 POINTS AND ONLY SCORED 3 THEMSELVES.
This loss was not on the defense.
One of those interceptions was a stolen posession, but the defense still gave up the TD. It might have been a short field but OU still had to drive, and the defense just let them walk into the EZ pretty easily. I don’t think defending half the field is an excuse to not credit the defense for OU scoring.

Coker dreamed of being an Alabama football player. He fought like hell to get to be the starter after major injury, an OC who didn’t believe in him, and disappointment. He was a winner, leader, team first guy, and a strong willed individual. He knew his limitations and knew he couldn’t do it alone. He did it for his dream, he did it for his team, and he did it for the script A.
He might be my favorite Saban QB. Not the best, but my favorite.

I think the biggest thing for me is that Milroe is able to pad his stats against the weaker teams while the good defenses with a good DC for the most part shut him down. I can't explain how he torched Ga last year and the first half of the game this year.
Massive cushions because they didn’t respect his throwing at all.

OU started that possession on the Bama 14. Yes, Bama could have stopped them, but at worst that was an almost guaranteed three points...
