Amen to that brother!! If PJ came to the SEC he would be outcoaching and steady kickin' Ears', Phatty's, UM's, and LM's heinies! My only hope is that he is accomplishing this for UA not handin' 'em to RR, as well!!I 100% agree. Paul Johnson is a GREAT COACH. I just hope if not at Bama , he stays out of the SEC
I agree. Plus, I think that Coach Johnson's buy-out at Navy is only $500,000 and that would leave more in the pot for us to pay for some quality assistant coaches. It just kills me he is probably the best coach out there for us, he'd come to us this afternoon and he's apparently not even on the radar. Yes, he is the most fundamentally sound, fits real well with Alabama Culture (defense, disipline, strength & conditioning) and has the most compelling characteristic that is really needed at the Capstone...he's a WINNER!
Everyone is seeing stars with these coaches with fancy offenses and multi-million dollar salaries when the best coach we could have is being totally overlooked.
I'll back whoever is hired but I think we are really missing the boat not getting Coach Johnson. RTR!!!
My impression of Coach Johnson is that he is a Joe Kines style of fundamental coach but on the offensive side.I teach with a guy who played lb for CPJ at Georgia Southern and he raves about CPJ. He says that he is a great coach. Really good at making adjustments and a solid motivator. He told me of some times where they couldn't wait to get out and punish opposing teams ....just to show em how they do it down in the dirty....![]()
I think you are right...and that is very, very unfortunate for our prospects of hiring a coach like Johnson who would win, win big and stay with us for a very long time. The Administration is looking for a "big splash", whether you agree or not, that's what they want
