I'm reasonably certain we'll be shopping for another offensive coordinator regardless. I don't know what the answer is on defense because no matter who is calling plays, this is and will always be, Saban's defense. Saban has done a great job evolving with offenses changing the way they have from 15 years ago. I'm curious if he is ready to overhaul our defense they way he allowed our offenses to catch up to modern standards.
Kirby just curb stomped TN running this defense. It isn't the defense that is the problem.

If we’d played UGA in the SEC championship game this year, with our O-line Bryce Young might have been killed by their defense. Now that that is out of the question, perhaps he can rest a bit, get healthy, look to his future, and we can get a look at next year’s QBs instead. Something looks wrong with Bryce, and I hope continuing to play isn’t bad for him in the long run.
You might get killed for this but if Bryce is hurt at all then I agree

I'm typically a pretty optimistic person, but it's been obvious since the Texas and Texas A&M wins this team wasn't a quality team.

Now it's wait and see what CNS decides to do. And yes, if his response is weak, it doesn't bode well for the future.

And it certainly doesn't help when I watched a Georgia team today that looks like my team used to look and play and big games.
That last statement is so true. It's not like it was a long time ago when Bama was top of the mountain. The talent is still there. If I was a big time QB recruit or WR recruit I would watch what Bama does with the OC position and if it looks good jump on board. There are opportunities to play the next couple of years.

I don't see 31 going in the first round. I just don't see anything there. Not sure what happened. Dude should have taken that top 10 money last year. He has been a non factor during winning time. Essentially, pretty much every game.
Seeing as how you can’t be drafted until after your third season, that would’ve been impossible.

now the good news is that we are BAMA and we are going to be okay RTR
We’re not magically going to be okay because we’re Bama. We no longer impose our will on teams, we’re undisciplined, and our offensive and defensive schemes have been exposed and exploited. We’re a pretty average team at this point and nobody fears us. In fact, they smell the blood in the water. Major changes have to be made in the off-season to turn this around.

Anyone calling for Saban to retire or saying he doesn’t have it anymore needs to put the bottle down and sober up. He’s the goat and the same things win that have always won. We have two coordinators pooping the bed and a team that’s spiraling. If we fix those two positions we don’t have to be the most talented. We just gotta get back to being competent and salty. This team acts like they won just by showing up and when the other team socks em in the mouth they go on tilt.

Do we not employ sports psychologists anymore?

Roll Tide. Ridiculous going for the 2 point conversionns. Saban outcoached again. 4 loss season coming no doubt. So much talent being wasted. I really hope this team doesn't pack it in. I'm really worried about next season. If we have the same coaches with a young Qb and a lot of other young players could be a really bad season.
Won’t be watching next year if we have the same coordinators.

I honestly don’t think I will watch us play another game. The product on the field is highly unacceptable!
Oh, no doubt I won't. My time is very limited as it is and I'm dang sure not spending it watching an inferior product, and this is def an inferior product.

I don't know why everyone keeps saying this is Sabans defense. He doesn't run the d anymore. If there saying his scheme then yes but he isn't coaching to much of it anymore.

CNS really has some soul searching to do. There is little question these coordinators need find the unemployment line. There also need to a complete re-evaluation of the entire staff as well.
Then there need to be a reevaluation of recruiting. Are we missing in terms of guys we *think are a fit or are we simply not developing them?
If it IS one, both or all of the above, then the big question CNS has to ask is “does he have patience and the energy to tear things down and start again?. The foundation for championship will alway be there. However, the roof has a bunch of holes and is leaking severely.
I’ve said it several times the past two years. Coach Saban looks tired and frustrated.

Georgia is running a defense based on Saban's scheme. They held Tennessee to 13 today. They've had the #1 scoring defense twice since Golding arrived, while Golding hasn't had a top 10 scoring defense once at Alabama (the 5 worst Alabama defenses since 2008).

If Pruitt can have the #1 defense at two schools running this scheme (Alabama was #1 the two years prior to Golding's arrival), if Georgia can have the #1 defense running this scheme... I think the issue is clear here. It was the #1 defense, then Golding showed up and it wasn't anymore.

Someone other than Golding at coordinator, that's the answer. We're talking about multiple guys at multiple schools having the #1 defense running this scheme, just not Golding...

It made no sense to me either at the time, but I thought maybe I'm missing something, but I guess not. What is the difference between a 5 and six point lead?
A 5 point lead you are beat when they score a touchdown. A 6 point lead gives you a chance. Coach probably new LSU would score again. Everybody on here is bashing Golding so Saban knew it too that we may give up another touchdown.

I question whether we have talent or if we have “phantom” talent? I’m reminded of the Dubose - Cottrell era where guys we recruited were ranked high because we recruited them so we could win recruiting day with most points. Given what I see at numerous positions we may have something similar going on. That or our evaluation skills have dramatically diminished in last 3 years. I still think this team and coach combo has the lowest football IQ in the Saban era.
