Scott Sanderson, Wimp’s son, has a weekly segment on the Montgomery sports show. He was asked about Alabama and Auburn, and he finally said “if we’re cutting to the point, I can tell you I believe there’s something happening behind the scenes with both programs that’s causing each team to play the way they are. We only know what we see, and I believe there’s something behind the scenes affecting the teams.”

basically, "I think I know what's going on, but I can't really talk about it yet"

I'd say it's true but I'd be afraid of what that might be.

I think this was what Seebell was referring to in his post shortly after the game ended. I don't think Seebell was hinting that he knows what the problem is but simply that it appears that something is going on between team mates or coaches or something else that has divided the team or put some players in a bad place mentally.

Something is wrong with the BB team.

Ancedotal, but his brother Jim was one of my HS coaches. Jim was a stickler for "doing it right" with great fundamentals. We ran alot of what Wimp ran at Alabama. When he coached me in HS, his passion for taking the game serious was scorned by the average HS basketball player who was just doing something in between football and baseball, but I loved him as a coach.

After HS graduation, Jim was coaching at Faulkner. I went for a try-out, but didn't get invited to walk-on at Faulkner. I worked for one year with Coach Glen Clem, who was a great coach, but hard to please, at Walker College. By the time I was a Soph., Tom Kelsey (future Mark Gottfried assistant) was coaching at Faulkner and I again went for a tryout and got invited to walkon. Kelsey was also a very fundamentally sound coach too.

FWIW, I'd love to know what Wimp thinks of our current state of play, especially in regards to our fundamentals.

Most of the scuttlebutt is that Avery is considering the Pelicans GM job and that his wife isn't happy with Tuscaloosa or the handling of AJJ.

Have no idea or inclination IRT what could be going on at AU behind the scenes other than when you have a coach with Bruce Pearl's past it wouldn't surprise me if it was something related to NCAA infractions..
