I blame it on Saban for saying Vandy was the easiest place to play!
Ohio State lost to a 6-6 Va Tech team and still made the 4 team playoff. We have a ton of work to do, but the playoffs are still well within our reach. I’m not saying it’s likely, it’s just possible at this point.Cause it's going to be the single worst loss of any team in consideration. lose to Vandy and you don't deserve to go. period.
There is a huge difference in losing one game and “the season is overâ€Â, especially in the 12 team playoff era. I doubt many saw us running the table after we lost to Ole Miss in 2015, or last year. If we don’t come out on fire against USCe, then it’s time to panic.
That's what we said last year after Texas. What a joke.
We'll be lucky to escape the regular season with only four losses.
That’s not how the 12 team playoff works.in 2015, Ole Miss was respectable. we just lost to VANDY. No matter what happens, we don't deserve to be mentioned as a playoff team if we can't take case of VANDY.
Oh God…SEC Shorts is going to love this.
SEC Shorts is going to love this.
The college football world doesn't think that way, so it is still possible. Remember, most teams suffer embarrassing losses on the regular. That is the lens that the committee sees this through.Cause it's going to be the single worst loss of any team in consideration. lose to Vandy and you don't deserve to go. period.
Agreed - Alabama gets in with one loss because it likely means that Alabama is the SEC champion. Do we think that is likely?
And 100% deserved!Vandy with a pimp walk and cane is happening.
The thing is, we appeared to be a QB away from being a great team last year after we lost to Texas. We are literally an entire defense away this year. We need to get physical in a hurry. That's what we said last year after Texas.
Not sure we have the defense to make a run at the NC this year. From the stands, its obvious our front 7 cannot put pressure on the QB or get into the backfield to disrupt. It was painful to watch today as Vandy completed third down over and over...like Georgia did 4th down last week. Vandy earned the win...yes, they caught a few breaks, but we didn't step up when we knew we were in a game and not an easy ride....we shot ourselves in the foot with ill-discipline on multiple occasions...i tip my cap to Vandy, they earned the win
Agreed, because Alabama was. With this year's Milroe, Alabama goes undefeated and wins it all last year. Sadly, Milroe and the entire offense took a huge step forward while the defense left town on the portal express. The thing is, we appeared to be a QB away from being a great team last year after we lost to Texas. We are literally an entire defense away this year. We need to get physical in a hurry.

I really wish I could make myself believe this was one of those games where we thought we could try some stuff and still get the W, but it somehow got away from us. I don’t know that that’s true though. We appear to be very fundamentally flawed on defense. It's not the players in the front 6 that are the problem. it's the way they are being used. Womack slides to an odd front way to often, and just about every time, the other team takes advantage of it. If we let out edge guys be edge guys and our bigs be bigs instead of asking bigs to play out past the OT and our edge guys to play inside over the OG we might have a chance. It's been obvious from early on, but for some reason he's not seeing it.
This in a nutshell. At least three times we hit an opposing Vandy player two yards short of a first down and they just plowed our DB over for the first down. Just whipped us physicallyThe thing is, we appeared to be a QB away from being a great team last year after we lost to Texas. We are literally an entire defense away this year. His use of this alignment on 3rd down made me so mad I had to leave the room at one point. I was literally telling my wife what was about to happen, then watching it happen - no adjustment. It's not the players in the front 6 that are the problem. it's the way they are being used.
