I’m pretty close to that Earle. Three generations on my father’s side back to the 1830’s in what was Benton County, AL (eventually name changed to Calhoun County in 1859 and divided into Etowah/Calhoun Counties). My family was among the early settlers in what is now Glencoe/Hokes Bluff.Three generations in my Self family, not counting mine, takes us back to the 1820s. No wonder I feel so old...![]()
I feel old as well. At age 63, people find it hard to believe my father was born in 1907 and his father in 1870.
