I couldn't post anything last night, but here we go:

What a game! What a game! We all saw same thing last night, so I won't get into lot of stuff.

Offense- The run game continued to be frustrating for me to watch. At this point, Grubbs need to abandon inside run plays for the most part. I'm glad he realized outside run play worked for the most part. The 3rd quarter playcalling that led to punting ****ed me off. Three straight run plays.

Defense-We got killed on run all night long. I kept wondering when will we adjust to tighten it up. Last night was a scheme issue from my perspective. I think we did okay job because we limited them 142 yards compared to their games. So I can't really complain. Now, passing defense... they did pressure the quarterback and came close several times last night!!!! several of the passes should've been intercepted or fumble... So I can live with that.

Game balls go to Pierre and Hill-Green! They were all over the place last night!
FYI: on the interception by Brown at the half, Lawson didn't run hard and you can see him limping running....

On to the next one!
*GRUBB!

Got to give congrats to the defense again. Heck of a job even in the 4th stopping them in garbage time isn’t easy. D line is continuing to improve in pass rush.

I understand the need to run. Have to keep d honest and not just pin ears back. Will say some dumb video game play designs with those orbit motion with Bernard that need to get cut out of playbook. Way too slow and obvious. Bernard did a great job saving the team on those plays. Nit picking though. Another great TEAM win minus kicking.

Last night was one of those games that are so fleeting that reminded me of why I got into college football in the first place. The crimson and orange pageantry, the Third Saturday in October, the game meaning almost certain elimination from the playoff for the loser, and one of those rare BDS moments where Brown's TD lit up the night and the stadium.

I think the seats at BDS are too far away from the field (on the sides) to "really" create a packed-in, intimidating environment, and it takes a superstar moment to REALLY get a verbal crowd reaction that comes through the television. The pregame at both 2010 Auburn and 2012 aTm (sadly, both losses). Rocky Block 2009. Jonathan Allen's fumble recovery NOT in 2016 against aTm where for the only time in my life I thought the stadium was going to collapse inward.

And Brown's pick six to close out the first half. Everything about that play was a microcosm of those moments we cherish, remember, and love. From snagging the ball ("hey, they're not gonna score") to the race up the field ("but we might..") to the broken tackle ("okay....now!") to crossing the goal line and the eruption of the crowd, it was perfect.

As I noted last night, even Sean McDonough's call was perfect, and I'm not a huge fan of the guy. No bald-headed guy who looks like a hotel valet takes over baseball for Jack Buck (fired because he was old) unless, oh yes, his Daddy is also famous. NOT a big fan of the guy though I don't hate him, either.

But his call there was perfect, spot-on, and made the play made-for-TV even more.

If it happens this year for us, that play and that call will be one of those that stands forever in "oh yes, I remember what I was doing and that call, etc."

And Brown's pick with the run would be worth 7 points less if he didn't make it to into the endzone, since the time would have expired for the half. His pick six run was really everything to blowing the game open. It was really a 14 point swing on that one interception.

We definitely need better gap discipline and to stop the run... But playing those wide splits is tough, it does give their RBs more space to gash around in. 33 carries for 142 yards with a 44 yarder that we broke down on is about 3 yards per carry, so overall not as bad as I felt initially.

I just wish we could do that. Our running game is so anemic still...

It’s nice to finally be seeing some decent offensive production, which we haven’t seen since Sark left town. Bryce Young was the man, but he didn’t have the same quality of receivers that we have now, and the play-calling and schemes were unimaginative.

We’re still lacking in the running game, but the future seems bright with Hill emerging and with Dear’s potential.

He’s right. If you take away Saban’s 6 NCs, we’re only sitting on 12.
You cannot really count the Wade or Thomas years either. Plus, you cannot count when Bama lost bowl games but we're declared champions, so now you are down to about 3 or 4. While we are at it. you can't count those 3 or 4 because reasons.

Wallace Wade... Frank Thomas... Red Drew... Gene Stallings...

I mean those guys did little for us after all...

I've seen this argument dismantled before by pointing out that basically all teams do well, uhh, when they have a great coach!

Offensively Bama will get the running game figured out by years end. Jam was on his way before last week’s concussion. Also, Hill is now emerging. As far as far as our run defense goes we have got to stop the gashing runs. With film study and better technique I believe that will be fixed as well.

I think we may just all have to swallow the pill and accept that the only numbers that really matter are in the scoreboard next to the opponent’s name.

I haven’t yet, but what’s the point of worrying over 150 yards rushing in a game if the opponent only scores 20?

If the tackling becomes average to elite, those numbers will go down as well.

Need the consistent pass rush from last night. That will definitely affect LSU, and it will need to be there to keep Sellers and Arnold in the pocket.

Down the road it will help in Atlanta, should Alabama make it there.

So it’s really just the years when they were up and we were down that should be counted.

BTW, I wonder if he’s checked the series record.
