I hear there is a dental convention this week in Knoxville and over 50,000 orange people are attending for the free teeth. They used to give out free toothbrushes but they went unused.

They can never be accused of lying through their teeth.

I remember sweating out the week OF the 1974 Bama vs UT game BECAUSE we had lost Gary Rutledge ( our #1 QB), Richard Todd (our #2 QB who had been elevated to starter when Rutledge separated a shoulder), Jack O'Rear (our #3 QB was injured) and Robert Fraley(our 4th team QB) was going to start. Vols had their typical overconfidence in high gear, and were going to end Bama's "lucky streak" with their Superior squad. Fraley went up there and ran the option ALL DAY LONG. Wasnt a huge score but back then? It was huge. I think it was Bama 28 Vols 7. That was because Bama kicked off to Stanley Morgan and he took it to the house after he and Ricky Davis collided and Morgan said he was almost knocked out by the hit, but he managed to stay on his feet and went into autopilot all the way to the endzone. Heckuva game. Heckuva game. Point is....that we have lots of talent and had lots of talent then...but Bama has gone to Knoxville many times with less talent than them and won. Different time nowadays, but these are the good ol days and our players need to get ready to rock because they intend to play hard like they did at Awbun.

Bama's #4 receiver is Waddle. I mean..... not much lost in production there. In fact, unless I am mistaken Derek Kief made a nice reception last week, as well. I don't think Kief is a real burner, but I think he is like 6'4"

I read the brief practice report summary on al.com. It said Tua looked fine and that Ruggs and Juedy were doing drills (they sat out yesterday). Devonte was not doing much. I sure hope his hamstring is ready for LSU. He should not even try to play v TN. We really need him.

I hope for an injury free week/game/bye week and good weather for the game Saturday! Roll Tide!

I have no doubt that the vols w0uld give anything to beat the Tide this saturday, I also have no doubt that Coach Saban will have this team ready to play and snot slinging mad with part of the game plan being to start early and stay late. DON'T LET UP.

I had Finebaum on, though mostly muted, for a few hours yesterday and was amazed at the number of TN fans who really believe that they are going to beat Alabama this year. They went from hating their team to loving their team based on a narrow win over a bad Auburn team. Fans are fans, but the people who call into that show are insane.
