The UW/WS game was a fun game to watch. My wife and I laughed countless times watching football last night. In the UW game we laughed at the results of the slippery field. There were multiple players on their keisters on every play - some untouched by anything other than gravity. During the OU game we laughed at the ineptitude shown by both teams' defenses.
I can see why the Sooners fired their DC. Now they need to fire every other coach on that side of the ball. I did not see a single fundamentally sound defensive play last night. Both defenses got lucky a few times because the QBs played sloppy football, but that is all that was - blind squirrel finding a nut. Those QBs, as good as they are, are used to playing against air. When either was pressured, they played very poorly.
In this thread last night someone compared the OU game to the 3-2 Auburn/MSU game. My wife and I agreed with that assessment. They represent opposite sides of the same coin. In the AU game both teams had solid defenses and horrid offenses. In last night's game, both teams had solid offenses and horrid defenses. Both were hard to watch because the play was so fundamentally flawed.
