Over on the OU boards some of their fans are once again going on about the "unfair" advantage we and other sec teams have because of gray-shirting. Can't believe they're bringing up that old canard.

Next we will hear OK complain about the color or our uniforms too...

I love how everyone wants there to be some kind of disrespect from OU before the game. Both the ESPN article and these tweets here aren't the smack that headlines make them out to be.

+1 I don't know the crowd that dWarrior hangs with in Tulsa, but I know of NO OU fans that believe the Sooners will win this game, and I live in Norman. If that's what they need to do to get "fired up" for this game, then maybe that speaks more to them than to OU fans. OU fans that I know believe the Bama has the best team in College Football. Period.

Cmon folks. We're as proud of our program and tradition as you are of yours. You want to play somebody that just wants to lay down? Maybe you see that from some SEC teams. We want to beat you, we know you're way better than we are, but don't for a minute think we wont be coming to play. I can't believe you'd expect anything less.

This actually was a quote I lifted from one of their long time posters on one of their message boards today. I couldn't believe it:

"Yea, the bama offense is really subpar, especially at the QB position.

Sure he was invited to New York City by the Downtown Athletic Club but it isn't like anyone really thinks he is going to win the Heisman Trophy."

That's not talking trash, that's just pure ignorance.

This was a very sarcastic response to someone asking how the offense stacks up.

The OK fan I know thinks we can name the score. I don't think it's like that but we should win handily and I wl be there hopefully exorcing those '08 Sugar Bowl demons.

I lived in FL for a loooonnnggg time, I guess I just got exposed to too many Gator fans, thus, I cheer for Bama in the SEC. Srsly. I didn't get to make the game in T-town last time we played, but I know so many folks who did, and they had nothing but good things to say about y'all. Really, it's many of OUr fans favorite away game in the history of EVARRRR, and I hope some of your folks say the same about their trip to Norman. OUr programs parallel in so many ways, and it's always an honor to be mentioned in the same breath. I'm so excited for the bowl game, I had really low expectations this year as we try to sort out the QB dealio, but this is a great ending to a better-than-hoped-for season.

Here's to a well-played, well-officiated, injury-free game of some real deal football, sans ugly, gimmicky uniforms and all. REAL programs don't have to make uniforms part of the recruitment process!!! We are not Oregon!!!! Wannabes!!! Safe journey to all of you making the trip, we may well get our young butts kicked, but it will be OK. Win or lose, we'll face a worthy opponent, and that's all that we fans can ask. BOOOOOMERRR!!!!!!!!!! :D ;) And Merry Christmas!!!!

I'm cool with Sooners. They have class fans and a class program. They also share and understand the loathing if the sips. I remember y'all warning us about them in 2009 and they didn't disappoint. I believe the mods had to run every last one of them out and they still should have won the game if Colt.....;)

I still remember their band playing our song when they beat the Ags 77-0.

I've been on lotsa Sooner boards and seen VERY little trash talk. Pay no
attention to the few meth-fueled jerks who may run their toothless mouths.

Most of the time, OU fans reserve their "hate speech" for the Longhorns.

OU will need some help to have a SLIM possibility of winning. This is a rebuilding year and several key players are injured. The QB position is sub-par (by OU standards) and the interior D line is very thin. The OL has performed reasonably well. Coach Stoops may have to return to the "River boat gambler" persona he had in his early years. The place kicker is outstanding as are the kick returners.

My hope is to see a clean, hard-fought game with no injuries to players who aspire to go NFL.

Some of our fans are being way too sensitive. I don't consider what has been posted as trash talking.
I just got back from a four day visit in Oklahoma and the OU fans all wanted to talk about their great experiences in their last visit to Ttown. Without making excuses or expressing a defeated attitude they all recognized they were huge underdogs in the Sugar Bowl. They have a great fan base like ours. One of their former NC coaches once told me they considered bama and OU to be crimson brothers just raised in different parts of the country. I agreed.
The osu fans of course wished us well against the Sooners.

You won't find any "trash" in this vid of Coach Stoops' press conference from a few days ago. He is asked about bowl prep, about having recruited your quarterback and there are some interesting tidbits about his relationship with Coach Saban. It's 33 minutes long, the parts you'll find most interesting come in the last 1/3rd of the vid. I think you'll see why we hold him in such high regard. Enjoy.
