. By Jess Nicholas, TideFans.com Editor-In-Chief Sept. 23, 2013   Reports out of Oxford this week tell the tale of Ole Miss players taking to Twitter to brag about a coming upset, and being a bit loose-lipped in media interviews about their opinions of the 2013 Alabama team, particularly the Crimson Tide’s pass defense.   […]

Good analysis. Score is exactly what I predicted earlier today on the prediction thread. Should be an entertaining game, and I expect Bama to win a tough one.

I wonder if Bama has any motivation after hearing and seeing what the rebears have been saying. If so, I look for Bama to come out and establish themselves. I really have seen that much of a tough out for Bama. We've did what we've needed to do in the past. We won by 17 last year, and I won't say anything about the Trent game. I think it'll be more than 10 points. Good, well, great analysis again. If the o-line blocks we are gonna have a great game.

At one point Bama had scored 5 times without A&M responding. Then a 42-7 run. If, rather when, Bama plays a complete game it will be a slaughter. I have a sneaking suspicion that the Rebels may be that complete game.

I've been wondering if part of our performance problem against CS was looking ahead to Ole Miss?
(Yes, I know 'We Don't Do That'...)
We were also w/o some of our star players too.
We played a vanilla kind of Offense and Defense against CS.
I suspect CNS really wasn't trying to run up the score on CJM.
Hope my suspicions have some basis in fact...

Either way I'm expecting a better performance against whatever Ole Miss calls themselves this week

Thanks Jess. I've only watched Ole Miss once this year (Vandy) and was curious as to their strengths and weaknesses. Great article. Looking forward to what should be a very good game.

What I really want to see is our guys START the game well offensively. A well-executed, penalty-free drive that results in points. Against upstart young teams with talent like Ole Miss, setting the early tone can make all the difference in the world.

Based on the games so far this season and those played in the past five years, I expect a slow start by the Tide. The best analogy for Saban's teams that I can come up with is that they are like playing with a boa constrictor. In the first quarter, opponents are feeling pretty good. They are moving around pretty well and are thinking that they can win this thing. By the end of the second quarter, they are starting to feel the pressure. By the middle of the third quarter, they are getting the life choked out of them. And this is all done in a cold blooded, professional fashion, like a Godfather execution. "Nothing personal - just business". No showboating, just business.

I love it.
