Game Thread: Ole Miss Vs. LSU

I disagree ... here's why: Ole miss lose this game, and then they got Auburn game next week. Let's assume that they lose this one. they'll be two loss team by the time they play Miss state. Now, LSU is not in race for West... Right now, It's miss state, Alabama, Auburn and Ole miss.... but the tiebreaker will go to us if we beat Miss state. So if Ole miss had won the game tonight, and beats everyone except miss state then they could get in playoff... But anyway, my point is.. I rather for Ole miss to lose now, than later in the season.

I really preferred LSU to lose this game, now they are still alive in the West and they'll be fired up when we go to Baton Rouge in a couple of weeks. But, Ole Miss got one loss out of the way.

No matter how you slice it, this loss is 100% on Freeze. #1, the delay of game is absolutely inexcusable. Secondly, there's no way you don't try the field goal there. You had no timeouts, so rolling out and trying to get a few more yards was a moot point...


All that said, the kid probably would have missed the FG from 42 before the delay of game and then we're having a conversation about how bad college kickers are. But alas....his coach saved him from criticism and is now himself in the crosshairs of scrutiny. Hugh outsmarted himself there. That was stupid.

A quick pass to the sideline would have made sense. A Hail Mary to the end zone was a pretty dumb call.

With 9 seconds left and no timeouts...too risky of a proposition. Nothing good would come from it. You just let the kid try to kick

But it also gives lsu a load of confidence and gets the ticket desire back up for the Cajun faithful as well. If we don't come ready to play it could be really scary in Death Valley

I'm sure they are, but a throw to the end zone was not what Freeze wanted. If you saw his reaction immediately when Wallace made that pass you would know that. The highlights showed him saying "No no no". It was very obvious that that was not the play call.

A QB like Wallace simply doesn't have the composure to run the gauntlet of the SEC, and it seemed like all his issues came through tonight. The unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, the taunting of the crowd, the poor decisions throwing at the end, etc.

Kind of ironic that they beat us by getting an interception on the last play of the game, and that is how they got beat tonight.

Yeah that is low class right there. It will be interesting to see what their mentality is to finish the season.

It may have become apparent the coaching staff during the timeout that the Ole Miss kicker was emotionally unable to make the kick from that distance can and that moving the ball closer was the only possible chance.

Sux to be them...........boy the land sharks looked like the yard guppies tonight. Congrats to LSU and condolences to the Miles family, unfortunately I know how he feels so I know its tough on ole Les right now even with the win.
