Who cares if one can ride a ski-board or not?

That skill is about as important to the human race as the ability to twitch one's ear.

Is it a commonality of Democrats that they place importance in triviality? Remember how "cool" many of them thought it that Clinton could play a Saxophone?

Did that skill help him ONCE in his job function as president? I'm not aware of any instance in which it did.

I'll admit that I can't ski-board. I don't care to learn either.

If you can show me where learning to ski-board will help me improve my life and the lives of everyone else, then I'll learn. Until then, I'll study more important things.

Here's some really trivialized trivia:

Since age 14 I have been able to twitch both ears --- and not just twitch. I can make my glasses move back and forth. It enables me to end an uncomfortable conversation by flapping both ears at the speaker, then deny that the ears are moving. Really serious types are easily distracted.

Well, it's not quite as silly.

I would have more confidence, all other things being equal, in hiring someone with a degree from Georgia Tech than someone with a degree from some directional school of which I have never heard. That doesn't mean that the person doesn't have the same capabilities, but I can be assured that such a well-known engineering school will be demanding. I couldn't be as sure about the other.

Running anything, even a baseball team, is preferable to running nothing.

It brings back funny memories of Jerry Ford falling down the steps when departing an airliner. That is, it would be funny except for one thing. Ford was a sensible guy who could laugh at himself. He came up grinning. He didn't blame the airline attendant for tripping him, and definitely didn't call the attendant an SOB.

Sometimes character shows in small things, how you handle your own mistakes and how you treat the little people around you.

Oh... I thought that you were speaking in general terms.

I don't really think that Bush is a great leader. However, he's better than anything that the Democratic party has offered lately.

As time goes on, I appreciate Ronald Reagan more and more. I didn't realize just how rare a man of his caliber really is.

That's because you were too young at the time to appreciate Ronnie. As you got a little older, you got wiser as well.

BTW, I can't snowboard but I do know how to ski. However, it hasn't made me any smarter or wiser. It just made me have fun - that's all!!!

*And you need to have some "smarts" to begin with - balance is the name of the game.
