despite all the "reports," Kirk McNair states on BamaMag that there is no official statement yet and there won't be until after the MRI is done.

Guys I am going to keep my chin up on this one, several people reported that Tim was walking around on the field after the game by himself and one person on another thread said she spoke to him on the phone after the game and he said he felt fine. Now granted it could be something that might keep him out of a game or two, but I would think a guy would have some idea that it was bad if indeed that is the case and if the team suspected it was really bad I find it hard to believe they would let him go walking around on the field where he might do further damage. I will say this much I doubt its an ACL because if it was anywhere near that serious he would not have been walking around asking to go back into the game, he'd know it was bad as soon as it happened. so lets keep in mind that it could be a a deep bone bruise or something of that nature that would not kepp him out long if at all.

Not good news but better than the scheduled MRI followed by surgery that the TV station in Montgomery is reporting. The injury certainly did not look good on TV. I was sceptical about the reports of surgery until I read something definitive about Tim on RollTide.com or TideSports. com.

Brodie walked by himself to the locker room. We all know how that ended up.

I don't think...

he played after that hit. He was indeed walking around the locker room after the game, but that, alone, unfortunately doesn't prove much. The evening I blew my ACL playing BB, I walked to the car. In fact, the next day, I walked to the doc's office and to the radiology center for the MRI. I wouldn't read too much into the fact that he can walk. However, I wouldn't have been asking to get back in the game. The evening I got injured, I shook it off and continued to try to play. The first time I tried to plant my left foot, my femur shot out over the tibia, I went down and then knew what had happened...

walking to the locker room and walking around on the field are not exactly the same thing and I can assure you that Brodie did not ask to go back into the game and Tim apparently did from what has been said. Granted I'm no expert was not there, did not even see it and have not talked to any of these people myself so I'm only offering opinion, but an MRI I would think is only normal practice and could mean nothing at all it is simply procautionary, then again it could turn something up. I tend to believe that it was something like a hyperextension or a bonebruise, but once again it could turn out to be more, i will once again state that from what has been said it sounds doubtful that its an ACL injury.

Also I saw no mention of anything concerning his injury on RollTide.com as recently as an hour ago, that might have been updated and certainly will be at some pint but there was no mention of the injury earlier today on the University website.

Hyperextension...

injury to the ACL is relatively rare in FB. However, it is the most common form of ACL injury in basketball - internal rotation of the tibia while the knee is hyperextended...
