I wish some Alabama fans would stop acting like any doubt about elements of Alabama's team is disrespect.
I don't know who ever started this nonsense, but it has become about the most predictable and nonsensical cliche ever in regard to sports, which is amazing when you consider how many cliches are used regarding sports.
Kirk Herbstreit gets praised repeatedly here as an analyst and then when he correctly predicts Auburn will win the SEC in 2010 or says "Clemson is the best team in the country" in 2016, somehow he's dissing Alabama. And somehow his walking off the set when we were selected in 2017 - WHICH HE ADVOCATED - has been turned into "he was an Ohio State homer," when he was just saying Alabama SHOULD go but he thought the CFP would choose Ohio State.
Having an opinion less than absolute worship doesn't mean someone "disrespects" us.
(I lived through Nolan Richardson pulling this nonsense when I lived in Arkansas and they were a national contender for two years. "They don't respect us" and yet you'd see their name at or near the top of the rankings every week and they'd be favored to win pretty much every game. But somehow pointing out they had some major flaws in their game was both "don't respect us" and "racist," at least to hear Nolan talk).
"They didn't think we could do it, but we did!"
Uh......who exactly is "they"?
"Nobody thought we could do it!"
Uh......I'm sure you and your teammates did and your fans and, you know, the guys who BET MONEY on you.
It's like every one of these guys wants to be Joe Namath - whose grievance REALLY WAS TRUE in 1968,
