It is now guaranteed that the SEC national championship will continue to be an impressive 6 straight years.

However, the team that loses will be first SEC team to lose the BCS title game. Right now, the SEC is 7-0.

I saw this on a college football thread on another site. Does Alabama or LSU losing with the other winning make the SEC 8-1 in the BCSNCG?

That's going to be one of those stats that gets asked as an Aflac trivia question in a few years. It should also be a stat on BCS title records with an asterisk stating that the conference's only loss (assuming no SEC team loses in a title game under BCS) was to an SEC team. Even with a conference "loss" in the title game, we are still the only conference with a record over .500 in the title game (and I think we even have the most appearances of all the conferences).

This will undoubtedly be one of those trivia questions in a few years, and Vern will think it has something to do with Mark Ingram's dad while Saban was at LSU and Les took OSU to the Fiesta bowl.
