Dear Mr. Slive,
I have been a Bama fan for over 50 years. I reside in Texas. I am very close to many Texas A&M faithfull. My wish is for the SEC to offer A&M an invitation to our League. The state of Texas is ripe for the taking. Do not equivacate for to long. The young and restless Aggie faithfull are ready to bolt. If you triffle with them too long, it will be like the Alamo all over again. They need help. They need you to make them feel wanted publically and push the issue. A&M would be a fantastic addition to our League. TAMU is a great University with a culture like ours. I urge you to make it happen Sir. Go SEC! RTR. Gigem Aggies! I plead to all to post your opinion and press the issue. Lets do this this year! See you all in New Orleans! Roll Tide!

Thank you,
Bamaoldtimer

I have lived around and been around a lot of Texans. Best man at my first wedding was an aTm grad but I beg to differ with you on one point they are no more like the SEC than an egg is like a bowling ball. Texans are like Texans no matter what part of their republic they reside in they think they are unique and the rest of the world is at least a notch below them.

I agree aTm would be a good addition whenever (and if...) the SEC deems it appropriate to expand. Hopefully VaTech is the other half of the expansion.

Any nonsense about aTm replacing Vandy or Auburn or whomever is... nonsense.

sorry my learned friend from shelby. i wuz schooled in mobile. hope my message impressed you more than my spelling. cheers!
Not trying to put you down, old timer, and it doesn't really matter where you were schooled. It's just that if you want to be taken seriously, you must absolutely make certain that your spelling and grammar are correct. Otherwise you will be looked on as just another country bumpkin who thinks he knows more than the Commissioner himself.
I agree that TAMU would make a good addition to the SEC. I just don't know if the SEC is ready for another expansion.

I am in complete agreement with you bamaoldtimer.

They are ripe for the picking! They have approx. 50,000 students and A & M is a quality university. Plus we'd pick up the large Texas population. I think A & M's recruiting would even improve since they would be in the SEC and players want to be seen on TV playing the Big boys.

I really pulled for the Horns while Fran was at A & M but NO more.

Do it while Coach Stallings is still around to see the competition.

I don't see the point in adding one or two teams. However, If things are going to super-conferences with 16 teams, Texas A&M should be one of them.

I'm only 15 and only been around the SEC for that long, I don't know why you would remove Auburn, i think it would somewhat hurt the rivarly...? And i love the tradition 12 team SEC line-up...

You are soooo right about Texans, and that alone raises doubts as to whether or not I'd want a Texas team in the SEC. Maybe the A&Mers are as bad as the Longwhorns.
