We have a more traditional home theater system, with several components: Samsung TV, a region-free BluRay, a CD player (with USB capability), turntable and cable. All run through a Bose Acoustimass 6.1 speaker system.
Streaming is limited to Netflix and very occasional Amazon Prime.
To now, all has been controlled by a Harmony universal remote. Two problems there. First, Harmony doesn't make universal remotes anymore and hasn't for several years now. Second, ours is about 10 years old and is showing unmistakable signs of crapping out.
SofaBaton has made a universal remote for a while now, and has made significant improvements from their earlier models. The latest SofaBaton (model X1S) looks like a reasonable substitute for the Harmony. I've done some online research, and it gets generally positive reviews.
But I'm far from a tech expert and am wondering what thoughts posters with more technological ability (which is most of you) might think.
