Oprah visits the Denmarkians

Well, nobody has true freedom, though. True freedom would be having no government and no obligation to pay taxes or obligation to do anything else. None of us has that. I sometimes romanticize the idea of being free of all that, but I rather like having roads and public schools, etc., so...

Anyway, it's their country, they're happy. If they didn't like it, they'd revolt. I don't think it automatically makes them lazy or bad. They're just different.

I understand that nobody has true freedom but when the government takes 75% of your money, you have no freedom. Please stop with the roads and public schools, next you'll bring in the fire department. Everybody knows taxes should be paid but to take almost all of the people's money is ridiculous. Also, I didn't call anyone lazy or bad, I just said that they didn't know how to live free. They don't know the befefits of freedom. There system will never work here because we know what it is like to live free.

A.) The gubbment takes too much money for them to afford a car.
B. ) One more piece of "stuff" they don't have room for.
C.) No room for car parks.

I got the head's up about an Oprah show featuring Denmark. I guess this show was from a couple of month's ago. Anyway, Oprah, of course, raves about any European democratic socialist society.

In typical liberal fashion, all the perks the Danes (they aren't Denmarkians, Oprah) enjoy aren't "free", in spite of everything being deemed "free." The tradeoff is very high taxes and cost of living. I somehow doubt Oprah really wants to have income tax rates that are 50-75%, houses the size of closets (when Oprah's closet is the size of a house), and virutally no "stuff" (because you have no money left for things and have no room to keep things). Of course, she wants that for everyone else, but I'm sure she's exempt.

And again, someone please tell me what Oprah's appeal is. She's so dimwitted and has a "dumb" sense of humor and laughs at her own lameness. (Ha. Oprah bogarted their bread. That's so clever and funny.:rolleye2 There's nothing sophisticated about her.

Right across the straits, in Sweden, is a similar problem. So maybe the source of Danish happiness is not minding that the government is robbing them blind.

I do find it interesting, though, that Denmark reportedly has the world's happiest people.

That might be why she went over there and other places around the world. She might be shopping for a country to take her fortune and live in retirement after she pushed so hard to get her man in the white house. She knows she doesn't want to be affected by his, and the other socialistic libs' tax hikes to pay for their shopping spree, so she's looking for a safe haven.

It may be interesting but it is explainable. The Danes have never lived under true freedom. The government takes about 75% of their pay and living off of 25% of what you earn isn't freedom. With freedom comes responsibility and if you have never had it you don't know what you are missing. Some would rather let the government take that load off of them rather than face it on their own. Just my opinion.

Which is where this country is heading with the lack of personal responsibility. Too many freeloaders getting what they want without doing anything to earn it. Take away the government social programs (welfare) and listen for them to holler from the mountain tops.
