This guy is all about Alabama. :)

Tide gets 2009 commitment: Atlanta offensive lineman Kellen Williams becomes second to verbally commit to Alabama
A relative recruiting drought for Alabama coach Nick Saban ended Thursday afternoon when suburban Atlanta offensive lineman Kellen Williams called to verbally commit to Alabama.

A product of Brookwood High School in Snellville, Ga., Williams makes two in the Crimson Tide's expected 2009 signing class. He joins Foley defensive lineman D.J. Fluker, who pledged in the fall.

Does anyone else find it strange that Rivals.com made a "Five star academy" video specifically on this kid but they haven't evaluated him yet?

Also, so much for team speed... We're averaging 6'6" 306.5 lb's and 5.15 seconds in the 40 for 2009!!!

"I don't know what I'm getting recruited at right now," he said. "All I know is it's a great day for me. I'll play quarterback just to have the opportunity to go play at Alabama."
Maybe Star Jackson has some worrying to do if Kellen has an arm on him. I could handle a Jemarcus Russel type QB behind center.

Based on his obvious commitment to making this team better, I really think he might be one in this class to take on Tyler Love's prospect/recruiter role, which was so evident with last year's class.

He is a smart and a respected football player in Gwinnett county where competing for (and winning) the 6A State Championship in HS football is commonplace and expected.

This area has 4 or 5 high schools that have a high level of talent and solid coaching. Part of this is because we promote a solid pee wee program so these kids get good coaching and play each other from an early age. Pretty much, everyone knows everyone.

With that said I think KW has the potential to be the beginning of a foothold here and, as I said in a earlier post, this area is a hot spot in Georgia for UGA recruitment so I would love to see it.

"It changed my fan switch on the snap of a finger," Williams said. "I looked around and was like, 'These people really care about football here.' That's always where I've wanted to be, where people care about football."
This should put to rest any question about the fan base making a difference.

I thought we would have this straight by now. Can someone post the Star Jones vs Star Jackson pics again?

Don't you just love his attitude."

Yes I do.

Brookwood tackle commits to Alabama
“This is a big deal to me and my family,” he said. “We’re very excited.

“I just credit all of the coaching over at Brookwood, with coach Mark Crews and [offensive line] coach Tom Jones.

“I’m only as good as my coaching and my teammates. All those guys [played a role] in me going to Alabama because they worked me so hard.”
