Losses are never good, and this shouldnt necessarily make anyone feel better, but with Florida at 2 and Arkansas looking good right now, I certainly dont feel so bad about those losses. Especially how the team looked in those games.

I believe we were just overlooking Duke, unacceptable but that is what had to have happened.

We should have beaten Arkansas. Everyone knows that. Thats the only loss that bothers me. The florida game has some TERRIBLE officiating, but they still deserved to win it. However, I cant help but wonder if beating us gave the hogs momentum to beat the barn. Perhaps it was fate...lol.

Sorry, but the Arkansas loss is still bad no matter how you look at it, for the simple fact that we dominated them in the second half and had 3 or 4 chances to put it away before just handing it to them with a missed XP. The fact that the Hogs put a serious beat-down on the Barn yesterday does not make me feel any better about giving that game away.

You've got it. It's not just the fact that we lost the game. The problem is that we dominated the line of scrimmage and shot ourselves in the foot on every opportunity to put the game to rest. Generally, if you let a good team hang around long enough, they'll make you pay... and they did.

In a game like that, the team that feels it is dominating, but not cashing in eventually loses its confidence, while the team that feels that it is being dominated, but still hanging on will build its confidence.

Thank you for your understanding of the situation. Moral victories are for losers.

"Most over used and worn out excuse in the world."

And in this case very true. Slice and dice it anyway you want. Find reasons to run down the team you support, but the fact is a W is a W. Our 2 losses don't look bad. They don't look good either. They look like they are suppose to - 2 losses. If there is any fan here who doesn't think we should/could have won those 2 games, then you are not a fan imo.

"Moral victories are for losers."

And yet they can be used in a productive manner to inspire a team. Anyone on these boards that has been a member of any team knows that you build off the success, even in a loss.

I have no clue what this season will end like. 7-5 or 8-4 is my guess judging from paper statistic. But we play the game to see what happens. It’s football, a sport, and meant to be enjoyed. So enjoy it when we have success and try to help the team when we don’t. Most doom and gloomers are not actual critics of the game. Instead, they use loss, failure, misfortune to advance themselves in the eyes of those who are just as unhappy. Build character on individual success and not from the failure of others.

I never said anything about moral victories, I dont believe in them, only aggies do. However, so many are down right now, as am I, but our two losses we should have won and that was against elite competition. We shouldnt dwell on the duke game.

This board seems to be in meltdown mode, or close to it.

Sorry to put words in your mouth. I guess it just seemed an appropriate choice of words.

Following this line of thinking, when do we win the games we should have won? When?

Seeing how the Duke game was the last one we played and seeing as how a team should progress as the year progresses, I think it is very appropriate to dwell on it. Someone once said, those who fail to recognize the past are doomed to repeat it. I hope we don't have a repeat performance of last night.

I complained about Duke, a lot of people did. But can't we just forget about them and move on to Ole Miss? It's not like we get a chance to replay Duke to make it a better game. It was ugly, but the rest don't have to be.

Florida and Arkansas certainly looked like great teams this past Saturday, but what can we make of the Duke game? Looking ahead to a 2-4 Ole Miss team...I hope not.
