Video: Pate - Bama survives Cocktober

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Even though I about had ten strokes and five heart attacks during the game, it went about as I thought it would. I just KNEEEEW this game wasn't going to go "as planned" and sure enough, it went just like that. But, as we've already discussed, this type of game is good for the makeup of the team. It produces mental toughness, grit and overall team cohesiveness. So, some good did come out of this.

I think Pate is referring to how the South Carolina game (against Bama) in October tends to be tougher than expected. I don't think he's referring to South Carolina's overall success for October.
I mean maybe, but I feel like this is one of those manufactured things like "LSU is unbeatable at home at night" when it's simply not true.

For sure, I agree. Leading up to the game the sports media referred back to the 2010 and last years game a million times. So they basically took two games and created a narrative that somewhat wasn't true. But, then the game Saturday happened and it basically validated it. LOL!

I still think the result had much more to do with Bama than it did with USCe

Oh no doubt. Granted, I will give USCe's defensive ends credit for their pass rush because they did an outstanding job of pressuring Simpson. But overall, this was more about a very tired Alabama team that was running on fumes from the previous four weeks.

As an aside, Mike Shula called the game of his life Saturday never to be seen again, unfortunately for Gamecock fans! LOL! If he would have called games like that at Bama, he would have probably not been fired when he was and we would have never gotten Saban. So THANK YOU MIKE for sucking at playcalling while you were at Bama! LOL!

Shula probably told Beamer "Hey coach, let them score here...I have a banger of a drive dialed up..." lol
