Meemaw has never seen it be this competitively deep.
That's the point. But this year, instead of 2 or 3 teams floating in the cream at the top, there's about 7 teams dog paddling, waiting their chance.I know it's entertaining to talk about this early, but we don't know how these teams are going to look until we get into SEC play. With the way NIL is these days, you have so many people transferring out and in that you need to have the team gel and play effectively before you can make an assessment. Look at FSU last year compared to the year they just missed the playoffs.
And our lack of transfers during this off season is part of why I believe we will be so good.I know it's entertaining to talk about this early, but we don't know how these teams are going to look until we get into SEC play. That, plus finally getting Ryan Grubb cannot be overstated. And our lack of transfers during this off season is part of why I believe we will be so good.
And he's seen Texas & UGA this fall, too. He's seen something that gives us an edgeHe's got Bama vs Texas in the SECCG.
Bama wins.
Says Bama is going to be really good and that he saw Bama this weekend. Interesting.
Ty is pretty diverse in what he does. Tape may not help defenses much.Once again the key will be quarterback play. If Ty can continue to grow after the middle of the season, I think there’s a chance. He’s going to have tape on him by then and the adjustments will be made. It’s up to Ty to push through and continue to find ways to make plays.
Does Meemaw run "The Model" ??

I probably need to see the rally on the field for a few games first; but I expect to. No transfers is a rare thing in the current environment; I agree.Pate has seen something he likes.
I think it may be that he sees the sum may be greater than the parts.
The way this team has rallied after last year's 9-4 embarrassment and they've rallied as a team with no transfers, means they have bought in.
If the OL is just good, that could be enough; adequate might even suffice. IMO, it does not have to be outstanding, though it may be, and that would be great. Still concerned about Formby, though he improved from the bad showing vs USF. All of this assumes the D is at least close to what we think it will be, barring catastrophic injuries, and Formby is at least adequate..I don't know who Josh Pate picked last year to win the SEC, I just know it wasn't us, but he did pick us two years ago and it was not a pick that was shared by many other prognosticators.
Similar to 2023, I think us winning the SEC requires a needle being threaded. The OL play needs to be outstanding and Simpson needs to be efficient and avoid mistakes. If those two things can come together then we can absolutely win the SEC and beyond.
One thing is Ty Simpson has looked very impressive in practice. I think Pate took notice.Pate has seen something he likes.
