Y'all do know that a lot of sports guys rely on people like Jess to come up with their material, right? They don't have their fingers on the pulse of each program, they just know who to trust.
Totally different talent level they inherited so cannot be compared IMO.
Nobody has claimed they expected an undefeated season. Did you pin one of those losses as Vanderbilt? Did you predict the poor discipline and stalling offense? It’s not about pure W-L. It is how and why it’s happening.I dont really understand how anyone could have thought KD could just waltz into the SEC and go undefeated his 1st year.
Completely different league.
I had Bama losing 3 to 4 this season.
Oh no, none of that.Nobody has claimed they expected an undefeated season. Did you pin one of those losses as Vanderbilt? Did you predict the poor discipline and stalling offense? It’s not about pure W-L. It is how and why it’s happening.
Totally agree with your last statement. Too many pressers. DeBoer should be the voice of the program. When it comes to CKD, I wanted to see two primary things: 1) confidence and 2) control.
He came across as having both when he was introduced as the new head coach. Quite frankly, as we’ve moved through the season, that confidence has seemed to wane. And I’m not certain he’s ever had full control of either his players or his staff.
CKD would be better served to tell his coaches and players to “shut the heck up”’, do their jobs and let him do the talking.
I would love to see him shut down their access to the press the way Saban did.Totally agree with your last statement. Too many pressers. DeBoer should be the voice of the program.
That’s under completely different circumstances.Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer have the same record in their 1st 7 games at Alabama.
Balancing good assistants is probably harder than balancing these divas on the field.I would love to see him shut down their access to the press the way Saban did.
Hungry to win college football games. That’s under completely different circumstances.
We were lucky to have a few 4 star players on that 2007 roster and most were 2 and 3 star recruits.
They also have a ton of money and a desire to win.I had to come back to this thread after watching the LSU-TAMU game. Near the end of the game Herbstreit was talking about Mike Elko and described him as a "tough, old school demanding coach". Pate is telling everyone players need to be treated with kids gloves in the NIL/portal era and like DeBoer, Elko is in his first season but takes a more Saban like approach and has his team currently atop the SEC.
Yeah CNS getting after AJ McCarron in 2010 is still one of the worst chewings I’ve seen and he still made eye contact several times.Man, I know I can read too much into a clip, but this doesn't look like Montgomery respects DeBoer. I'd snatch one of my kids if they averted their vision like this to me, even as adults.
This is pretty common body language for NFL players when getting chewed out, and becoming more so in college and high school. I am not sure it is meant to be disrespectful. Maybe more of a defensive thing - a way to de-escalate the situation?Yeah CNS getting after AJ McCarron in 2010 is still one of the worst chewings I’ve seen and he still made eye contact several times.
This kid is giving off “get out of my face” body language.
I don’t know what to make of it because I have a feeling most of today’s players aren’t use to their Coach ‘coaching’ them this way.
But as someone else said I’d like to see this with a starter.
our team showed plenty of desire to win yesterdayThey also have a ton of money and a desire to win.
Alabama has neither at the moment.
