I hope "the model" is wrong. 9-3 record at the end of the regular season will make for a tough off season for CKD.

No way we end 6-6. No way!

11-1 is a great regular season in the modern SEC.

But even If we drop a couple of regular season games but make the playoffs and show a trend of playing better/more consistently as the year goes on will prove we are on the right track.

Just be prepared and don't look lost. Make adjustments. That's all I expect.

If I had to guess at this point, I'd go with 10-2, trending toward 11-1.

If TS plays as well as some think he will, then 11-1 is very doable with a playoff birth and a good chance to play for the NC.

I also think 10-2 (UGA, USCe) is a very reasonable projection based on talent alone.

Georgia is always going to be a coin toss, and playing at Sanford Stadium makes me think they have the edge in that game. Honestly, I see South Carolina as more of a trap than Missouri, especially given that we're playing in Sandstorm Land.

I think we are 3-0 headed to Athens. Until we start playing, there's no way to call that game anything but a loss with it being their revenge game at their place....with us having a new QB. Yeah, they've got a new QB too, but they are at home.

Then I'd say 6-1 headed to Columbia. I'm not even going to pretend to call the outcome there after we almost blew it at home last year. Their QB is a pretty solid QB too.

I think we take the three after that game, headed into Auburn at either 9-2 or 10-1. This staff's first trip to Auburn, if the Barn has 8 wins or more, watch out.

So yeah, I get the range of 9-3 to 11-1.

Our road games are in Athens, at Missouri (trap), at Columbia and at Auburn......those last two places have weird things happen as a common occurrence.

I'm chalking that Georgia trip as a loss so I'll be pleasantly surprised if we win and get what I expected if we lose.

Hold serve at home, manage going to our two magical lands of unicorns and we should make the playoffs.

UGA hasn't beaten us without injuries since Saban's first year. Mike Bobo is in his 11th year as OC. They're breaking in a new QB. I don't get the love for UGA, both QBs are in the same class but Ty is top 30 and Gunner was 100+ on 247.

I'd be more concerned about Missouri having 2+ weeks plus bye to prepare for us. They have a murder's row of

before our game.

Also Oklahoma will be rested before our game while we slug it out with LSU.
If we only drop the schedule traps, we're 10-2. If we can't beat 2 of 3 of UGA/LSU/Auburn. We're 8-4 possibly 7-5.

Talking season is getting old man. I think we will be improved in year two but we are going to see pretty quickly how good this staff is and whether we'll make a playoff run. We should but anything can happen. Pretty optimistic though.

9-3 is very possible with the parity we see in the SEC this year. There's several really good teams who will beat up on one another. Lady Luck will be a must. 11-1 is also very possible, as I believe this team is better than what many seem to think. Ty Simpson is a very good quarterback. Yet many yawn when his name is mentioned. He'll be a great game manager, but has much more to offer than just that. He has a great stable of wide receivers and running backs. The defense will be solid. The pass rush will be improved over last year. I feel more confident about this team as a whole, than I did last year.

His model also had us going undefeated in 2022 even if Milroe was the starting QB, not Bryce. So yeah...

I think our ceiling is 11-1 and our floor is 9-3. If we go 9-3 and miss the playoffs again, CKD better start packing his bags. Whether that's right or wrong, we won't allow another season like last year.

edit: my prediction is 10-2 and we make the playoffs. Schedule is too tough to have anything less than 2 losses

Given that we are no longer forced to deal with a certain unnamed issue.....I think we'll be fine. Coming out unprepared though, that should never be tolerated again.

Exactly. I think the certain unnamed issue was the crux of the entire season. Call it a mulligan first year transition thing for this new coach and staff. Just get the feeling we will be getting an entirely different performance going forward.

Jury is still out on CKD’s ability to coach real college football at an elite level. He’s proven he can beat anyone, but he can also lose to anyone. That simply can’t happen at Bama.

I’m a little more optimistic about this season than I was at the end of last season.

We’d have to have major injuries to be 6-6 though. I really don’t think we’d be that bad otherwise.

We do have a brutal schedule though and specifically going into Oct.

Missouri, USCe, Tenn, and LSU all in a row. They each won 9 or more games last year.

Right now I think UGA and USCe are our toughest games.

I’d agree our record range is somewhere between 9-3 and 11-1

If we can stay healthy and the coaching staff be more consistent with week to week preparation then I can see a 10-2 or better finish.

I do not see CKD being fired though unless we had a season like 2000 where we were preseason #3 and that’s the same amount of games won…lol

There is a lot to prove this season though.

This offense and Simpson is going to be the key , and if things come together, well,it could be a good season. A lot of things will be different on offense, chemistry and mindset, qb, different plays and more of them, a pretty good OC with play calling, nobody has film on anything, almost like Bryant going to the wishbone but not quite. I think we're going to be ok

That goes both ways. Until Kirby shows he can beat Bama, I'm not sure how you can project a win for Georgia, home or not. He did beat us once, but it took our 2 top receivers being out for it to happen. All the pressure is going to be on Georgia in that game. After all the talk about Saban being the only thing in Kirby's way, for him to start out 0-2 against Bama in the post Saban era would be disastrous.
